Mycroft was always like that. Never direct, but impossible to ignore.
When his world had collapsed. when he'd lost William in a tragedy that carved an eternal wound into his soul and Albert had withdrawn, severing all ties, blaming himself for everything. He locked himself away, not in walls of stone and iron, but in a dark inner prison built of regret and unanswered prayers.
Charlie had come like a small flicker of hope. As if some unseen hand refused to let him drown.

There is nothing quite so disruptive to a routine as a Moriarty.
