Summary
Simon has always been protective of Baz, but life gets a bit trickier when that urge is suddenly accompanied by odd hoarding behaviour and spitting fire. Once the pair discover Simon has dragon heritage, they decide to seek out guidance from the only dragon they know – Margaret.
And if they’re going to America anyway, why not make a road trip of it?
Cue monster boyfriends in love, dragony chaos, inventive spellwork and Simon finally getting the road trip of his dreams (with a little bit of adventure along the way).

surprise, he is not. Overjoyed, I mean. A deep frown has settled on his face and his lips are in a tight grimace.

I scoff at his words. “The only thing I am plotting right now, Snow, is how to end this conversation as soon as possible. Or what? Agatha groans once more before opening her eyes. She looks around in confusion before looking at me and Penny.
“Simon? Penny?”
“Yes, we are here Agatha. You are safe now,” Penny says, taking Agatha’s hand.
“Safe..” Agatha murmurs. Her eyes suddenly widen and she grabs my arm hard, her fingernails digging into my skin.

Simon is looking at me and those familiar blue eyes have never looked so foreign. “Simon, what’s going on?”
He grimaces, but says nothing, slamming the car door in my face and slapping it twice. The driver speeds off into the dreary London night. I look back at Simon until he fades into the distance, and I’m forced to deal with the betrayal alone.
