It used to be so simple for Tommy.
He was the son of Wilbur Soot, little brother to Fundy Soot, son to Noah "Foolish" Wastaken, a Slayer of Gods, a foe to many and friend to few.
But now that he has reunited with his family and friends after two long years Tommy finds himself having strange dreams, remembering long lost memories, meeting new and strange people and most of all...reuniting with his real father.
Can Tommy survive through his family's drama?
Can he hold back things he wishes to say but doesn't, in fear of being alone?
Can Tommy just...survive?

Protesilaus sounded bored. Tommy saw him turn around, and clamped his hands harder over his mouth, because he was entirely exposed right now. A defenceless raccoon hybrid, cowering against the base of a marble pillar, who couldn’t even run if he was seen, because running outside would just mean returning to a fate worse than even villains.

“Aw, is Techno sad his Tommy cuddles got cut short?” Wilbur teases, rolling his eyes, “Hm, good thing we can share.”
“Alright, how about you two wind down and put on some tv. It's been a long morning for all of us,” Techno grumbles, going off into the kitchen.
Wilbur watches him go, the two of them not moving towards the couch. Tommy, for one, is still recovering from whatever weird mind tricks Wilbur just played on him, practically trembling in his goddamn arms like a scared dog.
Wilbur, like the smug bastard he is, indulges Tommy, holding him close, gently stroking his hair, letting him hide his face away in his chest.
Or Tommy dies and comes back as a Reaper to serve Phil. Wilbur and Techno are not very happy about that.

Summary
The family was to say the least … odd. When Wilbur had met them, it was so surreal, like they had met before through dreams or- just- anything. So when they sat at Tommy’s dining room table and laughed and told stories, Wilbur felt at home, and something warm in his chest faded painfully when he left. Something warm in his chest closed off when Tommy walked away. The feeling deep in his shoulders changed, and the sweat in his palms left. But those weren’t bad things, they made him feel good. Tommy, Techno, and Phil were great people, who welcomed him into their home with open arms.
And Wilbur was a liar.
OR
A story about a hardworking librarian who just happens to be a demi-god, and certain a group of Gods happen to be very interested in him. Family ensues.

Normal life. And yeah, he's struggling to get through every day, but that's fine! He'll make it through high school, probably.

Tommy was in semblance with the world around him. Dull grays and brows, air smelling like rot and blood. Tommy hated it. Tommy loved it.
He was one in semblance with the world around him, but a grunt and a switchblade in the air changed it instantly.
He was so used to the dullness around him, blood-staining sidewalks as scowls painted everyone's faces. Nobody liked living here, yet they all stayed.
Tommy was one in semblance, but now he was contrasting with the world around him. He was surrounded by clean and stark whites, expensive clothes dotting the man standing in front of him.

The man was evil, and Tommy was his accomplice.
He loved all forms of evil, and all forms of evil loved him.

It’s such a caring consideration from the one enabling him. Tommy struggled to survive each day, scraping by on top ramen noodles and monster energy drinks. Despite all his energy, he's in the 1% of powerless individuals in a world full of superpowers. With too much trauma that the author totally isn't just projecting onto poor Tommy, Tommy starts his new job working for the world's top pro heroes who just so happen to be the most chaotic individuals he could ever meet that for some reason, two out of the three want to adopt him and the other wants him dead.
Just wait till when they figure out why he's so afraid of heights... -
