Gobber just has a few comments for him before he can go celebrate.
An extra scene in Book 7 that delves into Snotlout and Gobber's characters. Largely inspired by Gobber's response to Fishlegs's armbands in the books: "I'll lend you my cloak, Fishlegs, and you can drape it over them, and let's just hope nobody notices."

Summary
“I freed Robot that day. I changed his programming. I’m not sure how, or why his coding allowed for those kinds of changes in the first place, but I’m glad it did. He’s happier now, I know it, I’ve felt it. And I think I can free you too.”
It opened its claw and the skull dropped to the ground. Will pulled away with wide eyes, taking a step back. SAR looked right at him, filling his vision with red. “How.”
Will shuddered at its deep, rumbling voice, so clouded and warped by the sound of scraping metal and tumbling rocks that it was almost unintelligible. He’d mourned SAR’s inability to speak like Robot, but now that it was trying . . . Will wanted the meaningless clicks and groans back. Those hadn’t felt like something crawling on his soul.
SAR doesn't try to kill Will. Instead, he captures Will—he takes him from his family, to be experimented on, and to be learned from. In the end, he just wants to understand. And that's something that Will can understand.
In which Will Robinson tries to make friends with another alien robot, and this time, he has to do it the hard way.
