The old woman looks at Lan Zhan. "What's his name?"
Lan Zhan looks down at the man's pale, slack face, and presses his own hand against the cut, trying to staunch the blood flow with his glove. "Wei Ying," he says without thinking about it.
The man stirs slightly in his arms, his eyes blinking open for a moment. "Oh," he says faintly. "It's you."
Lan Zhan stares down at him, the stranger in his arms, whose name is Wei Ying. Which is something Lan Zhan knows. How does he know that? How does—he can't—this isn't—
"It's okay," Wei Ying says, reaching up to pat vaguely at Lan Zhan's face. "It's all—" His eyes slip closed again and he's limp in Lan Zhan's arms.

“Ah, Lan Zhan.” His grin softens. “How long have you been sitting there, my Lan Zhan? My dear husband.”
He returns the gentle smile. “Not long.”
Wei Wuxian removes himself from the water and practically crawls onto Lan Wangji’s lap. Into his open arms. Wet and unclothed. Lan Wangji welcomes him, closing his arms around him and holding him close. Tight against his chest. Wei Wuxian breathes in the familiar scent of sandalwood. It relaxes him even further. Lan Wangji combing his fingers through his wet hair helps, too.
“Wei Ying,” Lan Wangji speaks up, his voice hushed.

Lan Zhan made a bit of a face at that, then gave an almost imperceptible sigh. "So it would seem." He set Bichen down next to himself. "I wonder if I will enjoy anonymity in the next town we pass through."
"Well, it's your own fault," Wei Wuxian said reasonably. "If you didn't insist on saving everybody in the world, you wouldn't have this problem."

He’s angling for a laugh, or at least a reluctantly amused glare, but instead Lan Zhan just looks concerned. “You plan to walk home in a T-shirt? Do you live close?”
Wei Ying shrugs. “Eh, like four or five blocks? Six, maybe?”
Lan Zhan takes a measured breath in through his nose, lets it out the same way, then turns away and opens the front door. “Come on.”
