An unsettling crackling fills her ears and a sharp electric feeling buzzes through her veins. Her stomach flips, and the feeling of falling overtakes her senses. A wave of darkness fades in and out of her vision. She gasps desperately as her senses come back. Forehead on the ground she takes in the feeling of crusted old carpet fibers under her skin. Her eyes flutter open to an old office room, papers scattered about. She slowly brings her calloused fingertips to her face, holding it tightly. “What the fuck?” She whispers, glancing around. She’s met with an old computer with an absurdly colorful screen.
tldr; everyone escapes the circus but has no memory of it :)

The path becomes steeper as she ascends and she’s panting a little by the time a square wooden structure comes into view, nestled idyllically between trees and huge, likely ancient boulders (well…modeled to give the impression of being ancient). The mannequin that greets her at the front desk gives her bloodstained outfit a disdainful once-over before directing her to some showers.
“Please wash thoroughly before visiting our onsen.”
“Your…sorry, your what?” She should have asked Gangle to come.
“The hot spring, jeez, Pomni.” Jax is suddenly there behind her again, and he makes her jump like he hasn’t since her first day at the Circus, leaving him snickering at her expense. “I thought you and Ribbons were close! Her feelings are gonna be so hurt when she learns you’ve been faking an interest in her anime trope tangents.”[In which the plan had been to make them bone in a hot spring, but I plonked them down in there and they just got to talking and bonding and being vulnerable with each other and it was so cute and soft and wholesome so I let them do what they wanted and they wanted to kiss at the end but not how you think.]

The new adventure Caine sends them on is a good time to break up their friendship with each other, time for Jax to take back control.There's just one little thing that's standing in the way, her eyes always searching for his, her eyes always looking, she cares too much and knows too much and Jax isn't sure if his heart can handle another fight with Pomni again, very much less a... giant crab?

Bilbo Baggins did not go running out his door for want of an adventure, he went running out his door because of a terribly worded contract and a laughable quest that somehow held the spark of other.
