"Hello, Stiles," Peter's voice purrs down the line. Stiles lets out a harsh breath. "To what do I owe the pleasure of you calling me at 1:00 a.m.?"
Shit, is it that late? He hadn't even noticed.
"Stiles?" Peter asks when Stiles doesn't say anything. Stiles is pretty sure he's imagining the concern in his voice.
"I need your help," Stiles says.
"Really," Peter says, sounding amused. Fucker. "And why exactly should I help you?"
"Besides the whole pack loyalty thing? That I've saved your life multiple times?" Stiles asks. "I don't know, basic human decency?"
Peter hums under his breath. "Well, I suppose there is that," he says.
"How about the chance to be an alpha again?" Stiles asks.
There's silence down the line for long enough that Stiles actually pulls his phone away from his ear to make sure the call is still connected.
"Where are you?" Peter finally asks.
OR
Stiles is attacked by an alpha at college and bitten. He calls Peter for help.

Summary
the main story is the three part slow burn steter fic - trust, promise, love - and it is completed.
the rest of the parts in the series are just extra fics about the things they all get up to after the main story is completed. there is no set number of extra parts but as of 7/2021 there are at least 3 more on the way.
as of 10/2021 the main 3 part series has been completed and 2 additional parts are done. there is one more for sure already being worked on.
as of 1/2022 the series is complete. there may be one additional fic posted that is just a collection of scenes that never made it into the rest of the fic. but other than that we are finished. i started writing this in January 2021 and a year later i have finished what I originally set out to write.
final update: 2/28/2022 - the last part of this thing is up, the final bits and pieces that i never found places for in the other parts of the series. i have no intentions of coming back to this au but it has been amazing.

Summary
Peter Hale only planned to be in Beacon Hills for a couple hours. Just like the last few visits he'd sneak in some "pack" time to avoid becoming omega by inhaling the familiar scents in Derek's loft, and then he'd quickly climb back out of the hellmouth the Hale pack had once called home.
It was the perfect treatment. No muss. No fuss. And doing it under the McCall alpha's nose without the failwolf even noticing was just a happy bonus.
Of course, Peter should have known that nothing in Beacon Hills was ever that easy…

It only took a few more feet of trodding through the underbrush to finally find his dog, and the closer he got, the calmer Peter felt. Otis was still barking, but now he was close enough to recognize that it didn’t sound like alarm. It sounded like something between 'play!' and 'squirrel!'
Peter realized he was probably spending too much time with only a dog for company.
“Otis! What is it?”
The dog was wagging his tail, guarding the roots of a tree, and as he got closer, Peter saw that it wasn’t actually the tree that got him hyped up, it was the shaggy ball of red fur nestled at the base.
“The hell…”
It was a small fox. At least it looked small, but Peter had no idea how big full grown foxes were. It looked small next to Otis.
