Summary
Goro half-expected Akira to kiss as if he were still donning Joker’s mask, fierce and overpowering, not giving his opponent a chance to breathe. Instead, he lets his sentimentality lead, guiding the kiss into something slow and sweet. He’s even smiling against it, his fingers clutching tightly in the fabric of Goro’s shirt.
Frustratingly, he only breaks the kiss when Goro tries to deepen it himself. He tries to follow Akira’s lips as they pull away, stopped only when both of Akira’s hands move to cup his face instead.
“What is it now,” Goro grumbles.
“I love you,” Akira says.
or; Akira won't let Goro spend his final night alone, and Goro struggles with the weight of being loved.

To say it had been a shock to see Phoenix across the courtroom from him that first time would be an understatement. Phoenix was an old, warm memory gone cold with time and von Karma’s influence. But facing that nervous smile, that brightly determined gaze, had cleared some of the fog. It had forced him to remember that sunlight existed. To realize it lived in too-kind eyes.

But Essek’s bemusement seemed entirely genuine. “Because it’s not as ugly? Because who likes fucking decrepit old men?”
“Clearly you have not heard what your students say about you when they think you cannot hear,” Essek said, with such dry frankness that it startled a laugh out of Caleb.
Caleb is getting old, and has a hard time believing that Essek can still be attracted to him. Essek decides to prove him wrong with a little tender loving bondage and body worship.
