Billy smiles and it’s the most terrifying expression Steve has ever seen. Unhinged.
“Hangin’ in there, pretty boy?” Billy rasps, his voice wrecked from the screams and sobs they’ve only just heard. “Took care of that pest problem for ya.”
Or: Vecna dies at the Creel House and Billy was never dead at all.

“Damn,” he whistles. “Future any good?”
“No," she says. "Everyone dies.”
“Sounds rough.”
“Yes,” the girl agrees.
Doesn’t seem to be much of a talker, huh?

“Cold,” El says when they’re about halfway to Joyce’s.
“You cold, kiddo?” Jim asks.
“Not me,” El says. “He is.” She points out the window, and Jim follows her gaze. He thinks there’s a car, although it’s hard to be sure, parked on the side of the road up ahead.
He parks behind it and steps out. Immediately, he’s assaulted by a flurry of snowflakes carried on an ice cold wind.
He huffs in annoyance, and hurries forward to check out the car ahead. And then he blinks.
It’s covered in a layer of snow, but still Jim recognises a very familiar blue Camaro.

Jud feels the fist of Monsignor Wicks collide with his stomach.
“You’re angry, you should be. It’d be dangerois if you weren’t,”
The Monsignor is speaking to him. He knows that, but it’s not just the Monsignor’s fist he feels. It’s his first fight in the ring, and it’s the fist of his father, and it’s the fist of the man he killed in the ring. It’s hard to keep straight whose fist it is because in the moment Jud’s mind remembers a hundred punches just like this one.

It felt horrible, sickly. Like waking up after a fight, body bruised, mind numb. But worse, since he couldn't rest yet. It wasn't over yet. He still needed to write."
