A man has been murdered, and it's Sero Hanta's job to get to the bottom of it.
Or it would be, if spying didn't turn out to be as difficult as being a third-rate Pro Hero in an unfamiliar city. Sero gives up his hero life to go undercover as a regular office worker, only to find out that living an entire life in someone else's shadows causes some knocks to one's psyche that cannot be overcome by taking on a new identity.
You are what the industry refers to as an "undercover spouse". Your job is to help spies blend in by giving them a solid backstory, backing them up when they need it, and not falling for your fake spouse for real.

Any student will tell you: homework can be tedious, hard, even boring sometimes.
In some cases, people - mostly the Kaminari-Mina duo in a 2 a.m. frenzy - would say it can be superfluous.
Downright useless, even.This homework, though, is none of those things.
After all, this is a hero course, and a course taught by Aizawa no less. Nothing is ever pointless in his class.
OR a realization is made, and it changes both nothing and everything at once.

Hanta had gotten used to being the background character in all of his friend's stories. He'd chime in a few jokes and go about his business, never being in the spotlight. Being plain was just like that, there was nothing he could do about it.
Until he was quirked by a bystander and was suddenly able to hear the thoughts of those around him, but only when those thoughts were about him. Flustered by the sudden bombardment of thirst comments whispered directly into his brain, he flew home in hopes of finding the one person whose thoughts meant the most to him.

“Uh, Bakugou?” Eijirou's voice was quiet, almost rough, “You're putting out a pretty strong scent.” There was a tone to his best friend's voice that he'd never heard before, and it sent a shiver through Katsuki as he fisted the duvet in his hand tighter and ground his teeth.
His gums ached.
“Its nothing, shut up.” He focused on getting his pheromones under control quickly. Fuck, he really wanted to bite something. Something that smelled like Eijirou. He swallowed another mouthful of saliva.
“Do you-” Kiri swallowed as well, “d’you wanna just sleep up here?”

He has to rely on a shared interest in manga, on the sheer luck that he watches Todoroki enough to know which brand of chips he sometimes buys at lunch time, what drink he reaches for from their communal fridge after class.

“Oh.” Todoroki replied. Sero sucked in a slow breath, keeping his eyes glued to the screen, praying he would leave it at that. “Well, you could show me, then?”
In which Todoroki thinks dirty talk is fake news, Sero is a reluctant teacher, and Todoroki turns out to be a natural.
