It doesn’t get cold in blessed Valinórë and yet Maitimo shivers, reaching out for a blanket that is not there. His right forearm hits hard, icy stone. His right hand hits nothing.
In a far too soft bed, under the pure golden light of Laurelin in a Tirion of many years ago, Maedhros opens his eyes. He digs his right hand into the folds of unfamiliar bedsheets, and knows immediately that something is wrong.

Maedhros in an Aman he thought long dead rushes to fix the mistakes that ended up dooming his line and costing him nearly everyone he ever loved.

“Why do you have a baby?” Jaskier demands, because although Eric of the Wolf School is a Master Witcher and has shown extreme skill in everything from tracking monsters to slaying monsters to bashing knights over the head, not once has he ever displayed even the slightest interest in babies.
Eric gives him a look. And then he gives Jaskier the baby.
And that is how Jaskier ends up leaving Cintra: with a Witcher, a baby, and a milk goat.

The story moves through two timelines - Geralt adapting to the blindness in the past, and coping with the fact that in the present he finds himself traveling with Jaskier who has never clued in that when Geralt says he is blind that he means it quite literally.
