The strange part was that when he woke up, his and Mike’s faces were maybe an inch or two apart, and they both seemed to open their eyes at the same time, with Will offering a still half asleep, “Morning,” and Mike mumbling a small, “Hey,” in return, and in Will’s still sleep addled brain, he unconsciously moved even closer to the curly haired boy, trying to figure out if this was real life or just a really good dream when he felt Mike’s arm wrap around around his waist and let out a small “hm,” before leaning in and pressing his lips to Will’s own.
Will didn’t even process the fact that Mike Wheeler was kissing him at the time, he’d just assumed he was still sleeping, because as embarrassing as it sounded, this was not an uncommon dream for Will to have, kissing Mike in the basement where they’d made most of their childhood memories, but then he felt Mike’s arms move further up to his shoulders, pulling him so Will was now resting on his chest, their mouths still moving against each other like it was second nature, and Will decided this was the best dream he’d ever had as he felt his legs intertwine with Mike’s.

Summary
Once the three “brides” had finished the questions, they called the “grooms” over. Max placed Dustin's hat in the center of the coffee table with pieces of folded up paper filling it, as she explained how they would do this.
“Ok, so we have three teams, and 20 questions. The objective of the game is to answer the questions with the same answer and whatever team has the most correct answers wins,” Max explained as she sat down in the arm chair Lucas had already sat in, while Dustin and El sat on one end of the couch, leaving the other side open for Will and Mike.
“Ok this shouldn’t be too hard, I mean, technically me and Will have known each other the longest out of all of the teams,” Mike said as he relaxed against the sofa, sitting close enough to Will that he could feel the warmth of his body heat against him.

The party plans an intervention for Will and Mike to get their shit together during a trip home in the form of the newlyweds game that they all know they'll win.

Summary
It was only August 4th, but they had wanted to get settled into the apartment before classes started, so much to both of their mothers dismay, they cut their last summer in Hawkins short to in Max’s eloquent words “Fuck around and play house while the rest of us are stuck in a fucking shit hole for a month and a half” and if the comment made both of them blush red no one mentioned it.
“Do you want to do our rooms or the kitchen first because I think kitchen, it’s already 3:30 and I want to eat dinner tonight, there's a couch and a recliner in here if we want to just do the stuff out here? It can be a sleepover, like we always imagined we would have as adults when we were little kids,” Mike said, already opening one of the boxes labeled kitchen without waiting for Will’s reply.
“Sure why not, it’ll be like we’re in your basement except we have windows, and it isn’t freezing,” Will joked, opening his own kitchen box.

Mike and Will move in together when they start college and realize just how much they mean to one another and that this doesn't really change that much for their relationship as they fall deeper in love with each other.

Summary
A lot had happened in a year, they had both graduated from NYU with their degrees, Mike in English and Will in Fine Art. Mike was a published author, Will had sold 4 paintings to a gallery near the apartment, Mike did some interviews on tv and the radio, and Mike proposed to Will on Halloween night, and Will had said yes.
They had decided that being 24 and newly engaged that they were adult enough to take on a major holiday, and wanted to tell their families about the engagement still, so they called up their mothers and siblings and told them they wanted to host Thanksgiving.

Will and Mike decide to host thanksgiving to announce they're engaged only to have to deal with overbearing visiting mothers, El and Dustin's love life, via Hopper, Jonathan on mushrooms, and a pregnant Nancy.
