Summary
When Sephiroth ends up in a strange future, he latches onto one Cloud Strife and summarily takes over his delivery business—and his life.
Sephiroth plans their delivery routes carefully, calculating their arrival times down to the minute. Unfortunately, Cloud is always taking detours and causing delays no matter what he does, but somehow, they almost always make it on time despite it all.
Their schedule today is a bit tight but Sephiroth is sure he can find a way to fit everything in.

Summary
On what should be a routine mission to inspect and repair the Nibel mako reactor, everything goes wrong.
When the reactor explodes, Sephiroth is not concerned for himself. He has survived worse. But not everyone knows this, and a trooper ends up making a great, albeit unnecessary, sacrifice to save Sephiroth's life.
Sephiroth will do everything in his power to ensure that the trooper—Cloud—survives. He finds it difficult to part from him, even as he begins to heal. The scars that Cloud is left with become a reminder to them both of all that they have given up, but also, all that they have gained.

Summary
There are tapestries on the walls—in the light, they would show a bright and peaceful forest, teeming with wild beasts, clear springs, and gentle flowers. In the dark, the embroidered trees and animals only appear oppressive and foreboding.
Cloud's dark attire has him blend in seamlessly with those surroundings, and has the subordinates following after him appear as though they're moving shadows.
At the end of the hallway, the stone doors—carved from heavy red marble—slowly open to permit them entry to the throne room beyond.
Or rather, what was the throne room once and is now little more than a gilded prison.

The road is cracked from the lifestream erupting through the ground, and the shrubbery isn't helping.
Cloud leaves his blades where they are and spends two hours digging the plant out by the roots and then replanting it elsewhere.
It leaves a hole behind in the earth, from where its roots reached far down, far down into the dark.

Summary
The wind rises. Around them, the grass whispers.
Cloud gets back to his feet just as the air between the two stones starts to ripple, like a lake that a pebble has been dropped into. There's a chiming of silver bells, and then Cloud’s subordinates take a hasty step back when, suddenly, he is right there in front of them.
The Shepherd is in his usual dark gray robes, but his silver hair is a little different from the last time Cloud saw him. It's still mostly loose, but someone seems to have woven a couple braids into it, tied at the ends with flower stems.
Cloud narrows his eyes in suspicion.
