Summary
Kara opened her arms, allowing Lena to scoot into them, the two forgoing any sense of separation as they let the quiet of night envelop them. “They never found her Claddagh ring,” Lena whispered.
Kara tilted her head down, nuzzling into Lena’s hair. “Your mother had a Claddagh ring?” Kara asked.
She knew of the tradition - an Irish ring, with three symbols. The band had two hands to symbolize friendship, holding a heart to symbolize love, topped with a crown to symbolize loyalty. The rings tended to be simple, but warm, indicating engagement and marriage depending on how it was worn.
“It was given to her by her grandmother,” Lena murmured tiredly. “She lost it when we were playing in the water. Not long before…”

“You know,” Lena blushes, stirring her cappuccino awkwardly with her pinkie. “Orgasm. I just don’t…do that.”
“You don’t orgasm,” Sam says flatly, looking increasingly horrified. Lena starts to feel more and more self-conscious about her admission, shifting in her chair with badly-concealed discomfort.

Kara almost chokes on her potsticker. She coughs loudly, eyes wide and watering from the food going down the wrong pipe.
"W-what?"
"I mean, it's getting a bit obvious," Lena says calmly, as if she isn’t just delivering earth-shattering news. "The lingering touches when she saves me. The way her voice gets soft when she says my name. The other day she even brought me a specific vintage of wine from a vineyard in France she just 'happened to fly over'."
"What? What are you talking about?"
Lena arches a delicate eyebrow. "Come on, Kara. You can't be that dense."

Summary
In what can only be described as a clinically inadvisable act of literary devotion, I’ve written 31 Supercorp one-shots, each based solely on the bridge of a different track from Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology. It is essentially a coping mechanism with a word count (223,000) ‘cause if I don’t transmute obsessive thought into narrative structure, I begin to fray at a molecular level.
The focus on the bridges is because that's where people tend to say what they mean. Also because I have a well-documented allergy to emotional stability and a pendant for yearning. I like to think this is what happens when you intellectualise heartbreak until it metastasises into plot.

Kara blinked twice. “Okay?”
Lena took a couple of steps back from her. She wrung her hands together, clearly nervous about the supposed objection she was going to have to this new creation. “Don’t tell me you created a time machine.”
Lena didn’t laugh. “Not exactly.”
That felt ominous. “Well, then what exactly?”
“I’ve…invented a way to…”
She could hear Lena’s heart beating wildly, which was only causing hers to quicken as well. She reached out for Lena’s hands again, but Lena pulled back. And she watched as Lena put up a wall between them.
“A way to…forget you.”

Lena and Kara erase each other from their memories, only to meet again.

Summary
The door opened and both Kara and Lena’s jaws dropped in shock. Kara’s doppelganger strode into the room, a version of Kara sans bangs wearing a supersuit neither woman recognized.
“Who are you?” Kara-2 ordered, and Lena felt Kara stiffen in front of her.
“Who are you?” Kara retorted defiantly and Lena rolled her eyes, catching as she finished that both Karas had the same stubborn, confused set to their face.
“I’m Kara Zor-El,” Kara’s double replied. “Champion of Earth.”
Kara’s brow furrowed. “I’m Kara Zor-El, Champion of Earth.” There was a tense standoff as the two superheroes processed the information, before Kara worked her jaw and spoke. “Which Earth is this?”

When they are finally alone, back in Kara’s apartment, and her friend is removing her jacket, Lena’s eyes absently rake her arms. If she was a painter, Lena would want to make wonders in the name of Kara’s arms. She realizes that she has been staring for a tad too long and, when she looks up, she finds Kara looking back at her with curiosity in her eyes.
The flush on Lena’s cheeks accentuates as she realizes that her best friend has caught her red-handed, staring. Busted.
Lena musters her best boardroom face and holds Kara’s gaze with her own. She lifts her chin up to give what she hopes is a confident look, but there is no hiding the redness spreading from her cheeks to her ears and the underlying panic in her glazed eyes.

When Lena finds out Kara and Supergirl are lovers, of course she’s happy for them. Ecstatic, even. She’s always sworn no one could be good enough for her Kara, but Supergirl comes close. Nevermind that Supergirl abandons Kara on dates, drags her onto dangerous battlefields for “the story,” and doesn’t seem to give a flying hunk of kryptonite that Kara is constantly being kidnapped to bring Supergirl down.
