Yuuta kept expecting there to be one more bombshell, some other lingering aftershock from everything they'd been through. He couldn't sleep well at night. When he caught sight of his own reflection in a mirror, it didn't look like himself anymore. The scars on his forehead were a reminder of everything that had happened. He hated to look at them.
When Toge messaged him to ask him to come to see him at the Inumaki clan's estate, he hesitated. Was it going to be more jujutsu society politics, trying to sway him in one direction or another before he'd even decided what he was going to do? But it was Toge, after all, and he had barely had time to see him since the last battle against Sukuna. And he trusted Toge not to make the situation uncomfortable. So he went.

Shane nudged the pile of dirty laundry that lay on the floor of the bedroom (his bedroom? their bedroom?) He tugged his own shirt off and made a point of tossing it into the laundry basket instead of adding it to the mess.
"But I am lazy." Ilya was already lying on the bed, stretched out on his back, hands behind his head, a perfect vision of toned, muscular beauty waiting there for Shane to join him.
Shane gave a little frown, avoiding Ilya's gaze as he turned to strip off his shorts. I hate when you say that about yourself, he wanted to protest, it isn't true, stop saying it, but he didn't want to ruin the mood. Even now, they only had so much time together, and he hated to waste it on such petty issues as who put their socks where.
Instead, once he was fully undressed, he strolled slowly over to the bed. "If you're so lazy, maybe you should just lie there and let me do everything."

"Papa Kazuki!" Miri's little voice could be so loud when she wanted it to be. She came running towards him and Kazuki braced for the impact but she skidded to a halt just before jumping on him. "Papa Rei told me you got an owie." She sounded apprehensive and a bit unsure, looking at his bandages with wide eyes.
"I did," he agreed, putting on a warm smile so she wouldn't be too worried. "I wasn't being careful and I fell down and hurt myself, but the nice doctor patched me all up. I'll be okay in a few days."
"As long as you actually rest," Rei said dryly from the entryway, where he was putting away Miri's coat and bag.
"I'll rest, I'll rest!" Kazuki promised, as though he hadn't been trying to figure out how he could possibly cook dinner with one arm and one leg just a short while before.
