Dick doesn’t understand why it happens. He had been an only child for years, and by the time Jason had come around, he was rarely seen in the manor unless Bruce was gone. But it happens. And it starts with Jason.
It goes like this:
Dick is struggling in college, freshly nineteen and just starting out as Nightwing. His relationship with Bruce is at its peak of “worst family gatherings'' and he still can’t force himself to say hi to the kid that Bruce has brought in. He’s scared he’ll take it out on the kid—Jason, he thinks his name is—and so he’s been avoiding both Bruce and Alfred.
Or; The story of how one (1) Dick Grayson learns what it means to be a big brother, and perhaps, be reminded that he's still a young son.

34/34, so so so good! Lots of canon references which will be confusing if you haven't read comics (but i did bc im sexy and cool LOL), but amazing. The DC vs Vamps cameo, the DCEASED cameo. Looking for a knights of steel cameo mayhaps? Maybe a priest jason todd cameo? Fixing that awful ending of DC vaults robin lives cameo? UGH in love so excited to see how this story progresses!!! Summary
Jason Todd grew up with a fundamental fear of being seen. Not in the sense of shyness, but in the sense of shame. He supposed, if he wished to contemplate the fear’s origins, he might start where most tragedies do:
The house he grew up in.
Where the act of wanting was as good as a death sentence to that desire.
He supposed he might even make an argument for the statement “people become what they are called”. He thinks that might have some merit, looking back.
What he fears most, (like most other people), is how obvious it is to others. The fear itself.
He wonders if they can see it.or
Thanks to a rogue meta, the batfam gets to watch Jason's memories like a movie; and Jason just really wants a family again. But you cannot be loved if you aren't known, and well... if circumstances provide? might as well take the chance, right?
