Jason’s brow furrowed, though a smirk tugged at his lips. “Since when do you make out with guys at bars?”
“Since I want to, okay?” Damian snapped, then sighed, trying to collect himself. “Anyway, after that, we made out in a closet, which I do not need commentary on, and then he avoided me for weeks. When he randomly asked me to dinner, I panicked and said I was dating James. Satisfied?”
Jason leaned back, blinking, then broke into laughter.
“Woah,” Dick shook his head in disbelief.
Or: Damian's journey through med school and the first year of residency is way messier than he'd expected. At least he's having fun.

Bruce makes sure the surprise at the question is not evident on his face, “I don't,” He answers heavily.
Peter closes his eyes with a slow and deliberate movement, disappointment evident in the way his shoulders relax in defeat, “So you're not my dad, huh?”
“No, Peter,” Bruce confirms gently, not sure why the truth feels wrong, “I'm not your father.”
The boy opens his eyes, expression full of grief and eyes a blazing gold flecked with green, “My name's actually Jason.”

Summary
Bruce turns the safety back on, but he doesn't put down the gun. Instead, he keeps it in the air, aiming it steadily at the spot he'd just shot at. Despite the mannequin being very much not real, Bruce watches it warily, like it's going to pull out its own weapon in retaliation.
“Look closer,” Bruce says quietly.
Jason frowns, following the invisible red dot at the muzzle of the gun. He has to squint for a moment, trying to work out where in the stuffied body of the mannequin the bullet would've hit, until he realises where Bruce is aiming. Dread fills his gut, an irrational and inexplicable pool of fear congealing disgustingly in every empty crevice of his body.
Bruce is aiming for the head.
(When Jason is thirteen, Bruce teaches him how to shoot a gun.)

Summary
It is relief that washes off of Bruce in great waves of uncertainty. Talia relishes in it all, dipping her feet into this new sea of understanding he's letting her in on. She wonders if he even realises that she knows, that deep down;
Batman is glad the Joker is dead. Batman is even more pleased that it was not him who killed the Joker.
The air between them smells like vindication.
Talia smiles to herself, "I didn't do it for you."
(Talia al Ghul kills the Joker. This manages to solve a lot of problems.)

After inhaling her food before Bruce's even halfway through his vanilla milkshake, Stephanie seems to have sobered up a little. She's looking less green, and more like she's trying to develop x-ray vision and look into Bruce's soul.
Or maybe she's still drunk, because she very suddenly and very bluntly tells him, "I used to wish you were my dad," drowning her chips into a little pot of ketchup.
Bruce pauses. He slowly drops the chicken nugget he was about to put in his mouth — since now is probably not the time to complain about how the nuggets are a little dry today.
(Bruce Wayne is not Stephanie Brown's father, not at all.)

Mike isn't entirely certain how he let Donna and Jessica talk him into marrying Harvey while his boss was in a coma, even if they swore he wouldn't mind. He thought the hardest part would be going to the hospital and confronting the sight of his boss and friend lying there, but instead it turned out to be confronting his growing feelings for a man he'd never imagined seeing in a romantic light. Harvey's just glad he woke up from his coma, and trying to not be too upset that he's now married to the Associate he's had a crush on for over a year.

In Grace's opinion, dreaming about time traveling is no excuse for getting out of practice with his Eridian. To the rest of the Petrova Taskforce, it seems a bit odd that their resident Astrophage expert has suddenly taken to carrying a keyboard around and playing it whenever he speaks. Eva Stratt resolves to figure out what is going on.

Instead of lunging at him, the monster stumbled, as it tried to stand, and Clark saw as a child's leg slipped out of a big black boot before tangling in a yellow belt, small, very childish hands trying and failing to catch it. And maybe… And maybe it wasn't a monster at all, because as Clark watched, transfixed, the kid - because it had to be a kid, he didn't seem to be older than Clark- face planted on the floor without making even a single noise.

I don’t know why I don’t have this bookmarked, I finished this a long time ago! Really this story was so important to me and I loved it so much, I still do I just wish I had written this when I had just finished the story and the emotions were fresh, words would’ve been easier then. Mainly I wanted to say I love this story !!!

Eva Stratt was a woman of principle. That did not mean that her principles made life easy and that did not mean that she didn't experience guilt. In fact, she knew the feeling all too well. “I thought you would change your mind,” she admits. He looks slightly hurt that she would suggest that. “I don’t want you to feel obligated because I am your boss or because you said you would.”
“I’m going with you, Eva,” Ryland tells her with an authority in his voice she has never heard him use before. “Nothing is going to change that.”
