The glass doors of Baku's shop caved and out spat a man; panting and heaving like he had run from the mouth of a storm. He was a noir dream embedded in wet ink, with formidable shoulders and veiny arms and sorrowful eyes and — oh, he was looking at Baku. Baku, who was still half-shirtless with his right arm twisted like an ostrich and fairy lights dangling around his neck.
Slowly, Baku lowered his arm; marginally because although the man looked like a devastating wet dream, Baku loved his flower shop even more.
“Who are you?” he yelled as threateningly as possible, shielding his belly.
The stranger blinked, the tips of his ears red. A sigh, then a soft mutter.
“I want to buy flowers.”
Baku narrowed his eyes. Why did this man look constipated? And why was he speaking like he was delivering a secret code?

For a long moment, all Nobara can hear is the noises of the woods at night—wind rustling leaves, branches creaking, cars driving far off. It's not the near complete silence of the country, but it's still quiet. Almost peaceful, even.
Too bad she's too mad for any of it to take. "What did you just say?"
