He's going out to search for a happiness he knew a long time ago.

    Summary

Asa’s last conscious thought, before he was lulled to sleep by the cool softness of the night and the rustle of the trees and the clammy weight of his husband’s hand in his own, was again of his wish on the star: let me know him, in every way there is, and let me keep him, please.

Squinting at the morning light, he clutched at his head, at the buzz in his ears and the ache in the bridge of his nose. It felt like something was growing, or rather, settling into his mind. And all at once, it fell into place.

It came like a montage, like an old photo album of a life that was slowly coming back to him, piece by piece. He remembers.

“Crowley!” The cry was torn out of him, desperate and guttural in a way he hadn’t ever heard his voice. At least, not in this lifetime.

Or: Asa Fell makes a wish on a shooting star. The next morning, he finds that it comes true.

    Summary

Aziraphale's lips are warm and soft, and Crowley sighs, wrapping his arms around the angel's neck. He lets himself be pulled from the chair, and Aziraphale's hands are welcome against his cheeks and in his hair. It's the very opposite of rain. Hair was made for touching, and fine jackets didn't harm one in the looks department. Not that Aziraphale had ever been particularly interested in the latter. He could be counted on to give kisses like this whether Crowley was wearing one or not.

"My dear," Aziraphale murmurs against Crowley's mouth, "you've caught a chill."

    Summary

"...it never felt fair to ask anyone to be my partner while I was still half in the closet.”

    Crowley shrugged a shoulder. “Admirable."

“Do you think so? I am glad. I thought it might have been stupid of me.” He felt his face warm and he flicked a glance at his glass, considering the level of the sherry. This wasn’t the man he’d come here to meet, he reminded himself. This wasn’t a date.

“Didn’t say it wasn’t stupid,” Crowley drawled, that tug at the corner of his sardonic mouth twitching again. He leaned forward then, his neck stretching as he leant his chin on his hand. “No rule saying something can’t be two things at once.”

    Crowley would know.

    . . .
Middle aged dating is a nightmare. Nobody Erelah met had sent any excitement racing up his spine. It was his luck that the one man that piqued his interest was one who had rescued him from a date going wrong, and said man didn’t seem to have any interest in anything but friendship. Well, he supposed he would take what he could get.

Anthony Crowley has his own reasons for not dating. Expectations vs reality were too far apart in his experience, and he desperately doesn't want to disappoint anyone, especially his new friend.
