It's been a few months since Team Red finally snapped Carmen out of VILE's influence and she's eager to see her best friend in person again. With Player's graduation right around the corner, she figures a surprise visit would be the perfect way to celebrate his bridging into adulthood. She hadn't realized just how much growing up he'd done during those 6 months she was gone, but what really catches her eye are the vivid, white scars that now completely cover Player's legs.

Whatever other plans Paxton might've had when he took this trip to Lumiose City was thrown out the window in the first hour. A really pretty girl asking him to star in her advertisement for a hotel he'd never heard of, his own bag getting snatched and then commanding a pokemon in a battle to get it back.
Then he got roped into the nightly Z-A Royale and joined the really pretty girl in a very interesting band of other trainers in said hotel on a mission to protect the city. What better of a way to celebrate with a home cooked meal?

He was gone, gone like Brenda and Bludhaven, gone like Steph had been. Like Faizul. She felt it inside of her, so keenly it was as if she had killed him by her own hand. She could search the whole earth and not find a trace of him. It was too much. The pressure was squeezing her insides, left her constantly choking for air. She couldn’t stop dry heaving.

"Nothing was happening," Tails grumbles a bit too gloomy for his brother not to notice.
"I can tell by your gleeful demeanor," Sonic retorts.
"Do you even know what those words mean?" Tails asks and rolls his eyes.
"I know a lot of words, I know all of them, actually," Sonic responds and uses his upper body strength to sit up without moving his legs. The hedgehog grabs one of the fox's tails and starts running his fingers through it. Tails only flinches a little when the hedgehog's thumb brushes over the scar at the base, "But that's not the point, you've been acting off ever since you and the kiddos had that talk. They were being nice to you, right?"
