Shivering, Nicky draws in tighter on himself. The room they’re being held in is small, but it’s drafty. The vents keep letting in more bursts of air, and they took Nicky on his evening run. He’s wearing shorts and a T-shirt, and the sweat has long-since become cold and clammy against his skin. He has no real concept of how long they’ve been in here, but he knows it’s been at least three hours. That makes it past midnight. There are goosebumps on his knees.
To his left, Joe shifts.
Nicky starts.

His marriage failed after ten years of being ignored or ridiculed and the mating bond rejection had nearly destroyed what little that was left of him. Being trapped back at his father's estate, locked up in his rooms, sends Stede on a frantic mission to finally be free, to be his own man.
There's only one place an omega can be truly free and that is a life at sea. He runs back to the sea that tried to claim him once and ends up in the path of the greatest pirate that ever lived-- a pirate who smells terribly familiar even if Stede has no memory of meeting the famed Blackbeard before.
Blackbeard is nothing like the alphas Stede had met before and the two of them become fast friends as they take on a life at sea together, co-captaining the Revenge.
