Summary
Soap’s first meeting with Formula 1 was at Silverstone at the sweet age of twelve years old. Watching the Formula 1 cars whizz passed them was something Soap would never forget.
But the thing that had been ingrained in his young mind was not the race itself, not the driver’s whizzing past or the car's designs, no, it was from a big screen along the track for when the cars were driving in a different sector. His eyes were glued to the image as the image changed to a pit stop, showing the synchronised team ripping off the tyres and sticking on new ones, how the team’s flowed like water around the car in a matter of seconds before it shot out of Pit Lane again.
Soap had turned to his father, massive blue eyes crinkling with determination as he said “I am going to be a Formula 1 mechanic!”
Dreams became reality as he stepped into the garage during F1 2023 season years later, throwing him into the whirlwind of motorsports in the Red Bull pit crew. Not knowing this season wouldn’t only bring him his desire to be a mechanic but also bring him closer to the lead driver of the team, Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley, who was competing for the 2023 championship.

Summary
In the tunnel, Soap survives the bullet to his head but falls into a coma that he will only wake up from after almost three months have passed, while Ghost struggles with his own resurfacing issues leading to a mandatory medical leave being forced on him.
Now Soap has to adapt to a changed body and a new reality that he has yet to accept, leading him back to a place he had long left behind. Meanwhile, Ghost finds himself spiraling after Soap’s near-death experience brings back bitter memories that he believed he had buried once and for all, and finds himself confronted with his past.
Even off the battlefield, the two men ultimately gravitate towards each other, becoming closer than ever in unanticipated ways.

Soap’s eyes strayed over towards Price again, suddenly remembering to ask Ghost to be partnered up for the next Op, “hey Ghost,” his voice had dipped low.
“What Johnny?” Their eyes met and Ghost had his mask half pulled down over his mouth so he could sip at his drink, an easy smile that stretched the scars around his mouth. God Soap thought he was hot.
It was nearly distracting, jumbling his mind as he asked plainly, “can we be together?” Ghost nearly choked on his drink coughing a bit before staring wide eyed back at Soap.
“What? Us being together?”
“Aye,” Soap looked at him a bit confused. “If you don't want to, that's fine, I won't make it a big deal if you don’t.”
“I’m just surprised you’re so casual about it,” Ghost put his glass down, shuffling a bit closer that made Soap smile wider, “but yes, if you’re sure?”
Ghost nearly sounded nervous, and Soap saw the slight red tint to his cheeks and ears and Soap grinned wider at the knowledge that Ghost got flustered about being partnered up for a mission, he laughed a bit tilting his head to the side and looking up at Ghost, “I’m always sure about you.”
