“I am,” he supplies with a nod.
“And what kind of curse did the titaness manage to wrap you up in?” He sounds bored. He probably is, but any good head of house would make sure his new prisoner isn’t spreading something that’s contagious.
Odysseus steels himself. “It’s a punishment for avoiding sex,” he explains, miraculously concise.
“What?” The room shakes.

In which Polyphemus doesn't fall in front of the cave entrance, and thus Odysseus doesn't have to blind him. He never evokes Poseidon's ire.
Odysseus still has the worst luck in all of ancient Greece, however, and winds up on Ogygia for six years anyway.
So, when the king of Ithaca is injured falling through Charybdis' teeth, Poseidon has no reason not to assist. Zeus' gentle persuasion helps, too.

“Virgil!” Patton yelled just as he popped his finger in his mouth.
Virgil had stiffened at the sound of his name and whirled back to face a very mad Patton and a surprised Logan. The taste of avocado had hit the back of his throat, which almost made him feel great: it tasted just as earthy as he remembered it being when his mother made it, with just the right bitter aftertaste that made Virgil want more, although he didn’t remember it being quite so prominent--
“That was the Prince’s Cake!” Patton had shouted, “As in Prince Remus! I don’t care if you are in good graces with his highness! That was a stupid- stupid -stupid-- what on earth were you thinking? Virgil--!!”
And that was when Virgil had first felt the burning, like an itch in his throat that had suddenly swept him up. Patton’s voice had faded as he grabbed for his own throat, for his chest, for anything to remove the sudden agony ravaging his body. He had toppled straight off the counter in the middle of whatever else Patton had shouted, taking the cake right down with him.

"Uses the air currents like feelers, I think," Dream's breath was coming heavier as he carried on running. "Gets an idea of where things are in relation to him. He doesn't always get it right, sometimes there are cracks in things big enough to feel like an escape route and he slams into a wall. Or he doesn't angle close enough to the ground and trips on things. He's uh-" Dream flipped the communicator around, and Techno blinked as Bad flew through the air, screeching the whole way. "He's slippery."
