Summary
When Whitaker accidentally sends a dick pic to Dr. Robby, he never thought it would end like this.

The ED team shuffles out, Whitaker and Dr. Robby taking up the rear. Dr. Robby stops him with a hand on Whitaker’s waist, there and gone. “Really,” he says low, directly into his ear, beard scratching his cartilage, “that was amazing. You didn’t waste any time starting compressions. That probably saved that baby’s life. You saved that baby’s life.”
The praise goes to his head, suffusing him with endorphins. “Thank you, Dad.” And he promptly wants to crawl out of his skin and slither down the drain with the after birth slop.

Summary

Everyone from his hospital is either shaking ass or drinking like it's their last night on earth, with the exception of his boss, Robby, who in a moment of sober spontaneity, asks his subordinate to dance with him. What follows is a tense night of will they/won't they while trying to maintain composure and professionalism in front of the entire medical community of Pittsburgh.

This story expands that moment into one complete shift. It will explore; what was happening in the Pitt before the power outage, a deeper view into the intense hours they were stuck and will follow the complicated aftermath across the rest of the shift.

Dennis stills at that, giving him that same, blank look from before. Robby wants to shut his eyes. He never wants to see it again.
He tilts his head. “Accident?”
“You were—” Robby says, and doesn’t miss the desperation in his own voice. “I just told you. You were in an accident. Don’t you remember?”After an argument about Robby’s resignation from the Pitt, Dennis gets into a car crash that makes him unable to retain short-term memories. Including the fight they just had, and Robby’s imminent departure. It’s up to Robby to nurse him back to health, and choose which truth to tell him.

"Why would I be nervous?” Dennis asked, keeping his voice neutral.
“Hmm, yeah. I wonder why.” Trinity couldn’t have made the sarcasm any more obvious.
He didn’t acknowledge it, hoping she’d drop it. Of course he knew why he would be nervous. He was nervous. But he wasn’t going to let Trin in on that. She was annoying enough as is.
He stared out the window of the bus. He had no idea what to expect of today. Neither from himself or from Robby.

Dennis returns to the Pitt after seven months. Seven months after he'd gone home with Robby. Again. After seven months of no contact with the man.

“I haven’t really been to a wedding where I’ve, uh… let loose. But, hey,” Dennis shrugged, “maybe I’m doing it wrong.”
“If I hadn’t already agreed to go to this conference, I’d offer to go with you,” Robby said casually. “Show you how it’s done. I’ve got a good track record as a plus-one, too.” Dennis had to say something. To interrupt. To shut this down. But what was he supposed to say? No, you can’t be my plus one, because I lied about my cousin, and there is no wedding, and it seems a little weird to bring a date to a fucking funeral– “Apparently parents love it when you bring home a doctor.”
And just like that, the bubble popped.
“I’m not gay,” Dennis snapped.
He had never hated the sound of his own voice as much as he did right then.

Or, Dennis is anxiously headed home for a "wedding" in Broken Bow, Nebraska, the details of which are increasingly fuzzy. Robby's got a medical conference in Omaha that same weekend. So they carpool. Clearly there is nothing to discuss since the whole thing is just a temporary lapse in judgment.
