A few too many seconds of freefall and Andrew couldn’t keep his mouth shut. He should have shut down, locking his emotions in for only him to know about. Instead when the plane leveled out, Andrew spoke the weighty words that others threw around casually. Words neither of them had ever said.
During heavy turbulence, Andrew accidentally says I love you. Even though they fly back home tomorrow, he’s still not ready to talk about it.

Neil stood there all open and relaxed, a gentle curve of pink lips, unruly auburn hair hovering over sparkling blue eyes.
Andrew’s mouth snapped shut. He put the box carefully back on the shelf and walked out of the store without a word.

Neil knows Andrew deserves to find someone he can plan a future with, and he knows just the thing to help him.
A love potion, one with such specifications, is one of the hardest things any potion maker can craft. Neil could do it in his sleep, so that’s no longer the quandary.
Really, it’s whether or not he should.
He tells himself it's all for Andrew's sake, and not to simply stop the pining ache in his own heart.
That would just be a bonus...he hopes.

While a binder isn't a bad idea, that one seems like the wrong one, which is how Neil comes to the conclusion to just get another.

According to the team, Andrew is currently losing a custody battle for Neil against a sport invented by the mafia.
It’s a running joke in the locker room: Neil cares about Exy, and then, distant second, he cares about breathing. Andrew is somewhere on the list, probably below the new backliner spread Kevin found.
Andrew doesn't bother correcting them. He knows the difference between a distraction and a destination. He knows Neil runs until his lungs burn to keep the ghosts quiet, but he also knows exactly whose bed Neil crawls into when the adrenaline fades.
(Or: 5 times the team thought Neil loved the sport more than the goalkeeper, and one time Neil made the hierarchy terrifyingly clear.)

His anxious silence is so loud Andrew can barely hear Morgan Freeman telling him about the meerkats. Nicky has opened and shut his mouth for the fifth time when Andrew snaps. He pauses the tv, sets down his ice cream, and finally looks up at his cousin.
“You have 30 seconds to ask me whatever you want to ask me before a knife comes out.”
This is a new thing, warning people before they get stabbed. Andrews’ trying to grow as a person.

"Go on," Andrea presses, pushing the knife impossibly closer to her. Finally, the woman's gaze flits downwards, and Andrea can hear her low, sharp inhale. It would only take the slightest twitch of the blonde's fingers to puncture the unmarred skin of the stranger's neck. "I'd rather not get blood on my clothing."
She wasn't bluffing, and both her and the woman knew it. Andrea's gaze held every question she might've asked— behave or I'll slit your throat and leave you to bleed out on my floor.
That's when the stranger's lips finally begin to part. However, it's not to offer an admission of what she had done, or even to plead for her life. Instead, a slow and oddly unnerving smile begins to curve at her lips, the expression callous and utterly wicked.
"Try it," she heaves, and the sure conviction in her words makes Andrea's skin crawl all over. "See what happens."
Or, the last thing Andrea needs in her life is a clingy, exy-obsessed ghost only she can see. Then again, when has she ever gotten what she wanted?

“I am,” Neil tells him because he is. Then, almost as an afterthought that just happens to slip past his lips like a secret, like red-stained hangnails dripping through his teeth, he tells Andrew, “It’s not even that bad this time.”
“You’re hurting yourself,” Andrew says as if it were really that simple. He isn’t looking at him when he says, something of retrospection, “It’s bad every time.”
Or biting his nails off is just something Neil does.
