“So, we’re going on an adventure that will most likely claim our lives,” Wooyoung spoke up, giving his captain a rather cocky expression. “Is the treasure even worth it?”
At that, Hongjoong’s face instantly mirrored the young spy’s own look. The smirk that took over his face was intimidating and reminded Seonghwa that Hongjoong was indeed wild, his eyes sparkling with a dangerous fury. He leaned over the desk and slammed his palm into the map that lay there, the sound echoing through the candle-lit cabin, and licked over his bottom lip with a firm nod of his head.
“Aye, it’s eternal life.”
Or: After being promised the adventure of a lifetime, Seonghwa had found himself wondering if this grand adventure was for him after all. With a combination of heart-wrenching guilt and the feeling that the crew doesn’t like him, Seonghwa does his best to forget who he was and tries to fit in with this rogue pirate crew who are chasing after a treasure no pirate has ever dared to retrieve before. The warning was there, they had time to make it out. When the power went out without a moment’s notice followed by the water disappearing shortly after, Seonghwa knew that his screaming instincts weren’t to be ignored like his roommate told him. The portable radio they used only screamed static except for the occasional alarming words that no one believed because it was April 1st and it was all supposedly a big prank.
That’s all it was, right? Some big prank? That’s what Seonghwa’s roommate told him at least, but look where his roommate was now.
Or: Seonghwa attempts to survive during a zombie apocalypse and ends up meeting six loyal men and one incredibly cold-hearted leader to keep him company as they try to make it out alive.

Summary

When a new pirate joins them, however, he struggles to maintain his control over his crew, his ship, and his emotions.
It’s only a matter of time until Hongjoong’s notorious reputation falls apart, but little does he know that darker plans are at play beneath the surface.
Mermaids can walk on land if they choose, but doing so is practically unheard of due to the risks. Seonghwa is the only living mermaid of his kind left, and after a life of hiding from ruthless hunters, he hatches a plan for revenge. He poses as a pirate and steps ashore for the first time in his life, all with the intent to destroy a certain captain, his crew, and his ship from the inside.
It’s only a matter of time until Seonghwa’s true identity is revealed, but he plans to destroy them all before it comes to that.

He realizes it’s the secondhand embarrassment as he watches Max shamelessly grin at James and proudly explain that he was just talking to Charles.
Lance has to resist the urge to roll his eyes, especially when he notices how Charles is quite literally the embodiment of the heart eyes emoji where he’s standing next to Max for his entire interview. And the beeline Charles makes for Max as soon as he hands the microphone to Lance after his P2 interview is even worse than the heart eyes.
He definitely should have been paying attention to that group chat, Jesus fucking Christ.

Slips the paper out and smiles at the first few bets on the list, all about whos going to ask who out first, Buck or Eddie, when they’ve been together almost three years now and then-
“Thirty on Buck messing it up first.” He reads aloud. The laughter stopping abruptly. Athena and Maddie are here too, probably for lunch considering the bags of takeout he hadn’t noticed them place on the table as he read the list. “Forty-five on Buck cheating in the first month.”
