He learned years ago that he can say anything he wants to unless Nandor is choosing to pay attention to him—and he typically isn’t. He can say things like I’m going to lock you in your coffin until you agree to turn me and I want you to do things to my body that I don’t even understand yet and I’ve never been in love before and it’s weird that it’s like this and Nandor won’t even flinch, won’t do more than say, “Hush with the muttering, Guillermo, I’m thinking about things that are far more important than you,” which has always felt like he took a page directly from what Guillermo assumes everyone thinks about him.
“. . .rude, Guillermo,” Nandor says, this time, turning to aim a sad look at him.

Aziraphale goes to True Directions, a facility dedicated to curing same-sex attraction and gender confusion. His goal is simple: get through the process as quickly as possible so he can return to his normal life and be left alone with his favourite books once more.
However, things are not so easy. Aziraphale quickly strikes up a friendship with Anthony J. Crowley, another soldier at True Directions who seems to make every attempt to question, challenge, and fight against the process. Aziraphale wants to help his friend get through the process, by showing him the light of God. But what complicates things is that somewhere along the way, he realises that he may actually, really badly, incorrigibly, heart stoppingly, love Crowley.
