“Surely this could be handled at some other time?” Phil hissed, trying to keep his voice level. “I just got back from the hospital, and I haven’t even had time to put Tommy to bed yet. Or at the very least, could we step outside to… discuss matters?”
“Phil,” Techno said, still smiling, “that almost sounds like a command. Surely I’m mistaken?”
“Truly, since we’re here anyway, I see no reason why we should have to go through all of the trouble of leaving and rescheduling and returning,” Wilbur interjected, slipping past Phil and entering the house.
“Of course,” Phil said, biting the inside of his cheek and lowering his head. He stepped to the side so Techno could pass as well. “My apologies.”
“Don’t let it happen again.”

Kristin took a deep breath, turning to face the table across the room. Philza, Technoblade and William were seated there with an empty space presumably for Niki. The twin heirs were deep in conversation.
Philza (Crowfather, Angel of Death, Unsleeping Eye, and a million more titles ran through Kristin's head) Craft sat at the head, finger tapping against the base of his wine glass. A diamond coated crown sat on his head.
An amused smile decorated his face as he looked around the room at his guests.
Kristin’s gaze wandered to the gun mounted above his head.

“‘s cold,” was all he said. The kid was in just a ratty t-shirt and it was snowing; his shivers hadn’t gone unnoticed. Techno expected him to argue or at least move out from under it, but he just nodded again, focusing back on the assignment.
They fell back into silence as Tommy kept writing.
“...I don’t know what I’m doing wrong… Are you any good at finding roots?”
“Probably a bit rusty, but I could try. If you want.”

The sound that came out was definitely some alien approximation of some human language that Tommy couldn’t quite place. Also, it had some sort of lilted quality (maybe from an audio overlay filter?) that didn’t quite sound like talking. More like…
The blonde tapped a section of the mat with the tip of his shoe to see if it would respond to him too.
It sang, Tommy realised, in German this time, and the screen above the place he had pressed lit up.

As such, hero-villian soulmates were a hot commodity. Kill the villian and not only do you have lower crime rates, but you also have a hero on steroids. In the eyes of the League, the death of one criminal was an easy sacrifice to make.
Dead, was the first thought in Kristin’s mind. Lying in a bloody pulp under the debris they thought they could kill me with. Beaten and broken and discarded, just like they deserve to be.
