You stopped trying to make sense of your odd situation the moment you noticed how warm Pierrot was.
When you realized his voice was only meant for you, when his sharp claws softened against your skin, tenderness overshadowed the danger of it. He somehow always knew what you needed before you did and brought it to you with a puppy-like tilt of his head, smiling with sharp teeth that had grazed your neck more than once, unable to resist himself. He liked to snuggle close, long limbs wrapping around you, muttering sweet nothings while his breath prickled the fine hairs along your skin.

“Hey Jax..” Pomni starts to call out quietly but upon seeing the back of his shoulders tense further she pauses.
Are you okay? She wants to ask.
But her gut tells her that that might not be the best approach with Jax yet. The memory of him hunched over the buttons console in despair, raw and full of hurt comes unbidden.
“...What is this place?” She asks instead, relieved to see that his shoulders slightly sagged down as if in relief.
Jax cracked one eye open and glanced lazily toward the far wall.
“No idea,” he said. “Just another one of those rooms.”

The dead can’t speak, the guilty don’t deserve to. Pomni has Thoughts™ and makes it Jax’s whole problem.

Jax is fine.
Completely and totally fine.
He's fine when his best friend suddenly becomes aggressive and turns on him. He's fine when he starts pushing everyone else away. He's fine after fighting with Pomni when she claims they're friends. And he's sure as hell fine when he locks himself and his room, slowly beginning to abstract.
Jax's world is coming down around him and he struggles to admit that he's lost control, that maybe he's never been in control.
When he started to abstract he didn't expect to wake up. He didn't expect the rest of the circus to suddenly be rallying with him after everything he said and did.
And he definitely didn't expect that he might finally have to admit, to himself and everyone else, that he's not okay.
(OR: After episode 6 Jax starts to abstract. The gang finds a way to stop it but there are… consequences. Jax is forced to think about his past and becomes angry at the idea that he once again could be hopeless. But is he really?)
