Summary
At first, Sherlock barely even noticed all the mistletoe around the town.
After they bundled themselves into coats and scarves, feet carried them down their usual route. They visited a few of their most frequented shops, but it was only when their favourite bakery came into view that Sherlock’s attention was caught by a suspiciously placed bundle of greenery.
A generous sprig of mistletoe hung above the threshold, tied with a bright ribbon, impossible to miss. Beneath it, a young couple came to an abrupt halt. They hesitated for a beat before one of them leaned in and stole a quick kiss.
Sherlock’s steps slowed down without him quite meaning to.
Or, three times Sherlock tried to catch William under a mistletoe and one time he got caught instead.

No one suspects a thing. He’s sure of it. Not a single flower petal has been seen, not a single cough overheard. It takes a careful strategy to move around Atsushi’s daily schedule—to be close enough not to seem distant, but far enough not to arouse suspicion—but Dazai mastered that delicate balance. He almost wishes he could brag about it, if only it didn’t defeat the purpose entirely.

The door to the bathroom stall slams open.
Dazai freezes.
“Ah, Dazai-san! Lock it next time!”
Just as quickly, the door swings shut again. The silence that follows is deafening.
Dazai looks down at his hands. Crimson petals cling wetly to his palms, blood seeping between his fingers.
…Well, shit.

“Let’s make a deal,” the skater said smoothly. “You won’t tell anyone I was here. In exchange, I won’t tell your team physician about the emotional support pack of cigarettes in your pocket you refuse to throw away. What do you say?”
This guy was so much more than just a pretty face. Sherlock threw his head back and laughed. “Now I really like you.”

he looks past the glaze over his eyes, and Mitsuri’s face is so bashful, soft, gentle, like looking at the incarnation of spring, and just entirely warm. And that warmth floods through him, breaking away all the ice, threatening to melt everything he is, to drown him.
And, when he opens his mouth to express his disapproval, he finds the words stuck in his throat, unable to rise past the surface of the foreign feeling.
“I don’t think that’s silly.” He chokes.
Mitsuri’s smile grows in size, and Obanai, sinking below dread in the face of his hypocrisy, wonders how he hasn’t burned away to nothing yet.
(In which Obanai is a very cold person, and Mitsuri is a very warm one.)

In the darkest and coldest of nights, one spends his evening awake in his apartment amidsts the busy streets below. He waits infront of the fireplace, keeping himself warm, alive perhaps - thinking of mundane, lively things to keep himself awake, as he waits for a friend to return home.
Home. He misses home, he misses London, he misses his family more importantly. He spends his thoughts alone as he waits, missing his said mentioned family.
His thoughts were then interrupted, with a knock appearing at his front door.
