Tetsurou saw the man sitting in the window of the cafe, checking him out blatantly, and pretended to recognize him, letting his face light up with his big crooked grin. He darted through the door, tossed a wave at the guy, then stepped to the counter to order. Coffee in hand, he strode over to the man, then paused as if confused.
"Ikeda…?" he said.
"Sorry, no." He had an open, honest face, brown eyes crinkled up in good humor. "But I could pretend to be if it helps."
"Does that mean I can sit here…?" Tetsurou put on his best hopeful puppy dog eyes.
"Sure."
"Great!" He folded himself into his seat and began divesting himself of jacket and scarf. "I'm Kuroo Tetsurou."
"Sawamura Daichi. Pleased to meet you."

Kuroo Tetsurou is in the middle of a meeting, when he gets the worse kind of phone calls. From his youngest's the school. Tazu's quiet voice, asking for him to take him home. Tetsurou doesn't hesitate and gets there as fast as he can.
Fever, stomach ache, headache, Tazu is just sick, and tired. Although Daichi has more practice, and natural skill at taking care of others, Tetsurou does his best to take care of his son, while trying not to panic Daichi. His kids, and husband, just need a little more faith in this old man.

Worst of all, Daichi's in love with the menace.

The doors slide open — no one gets off, but more Christmas music blares out, along with the dueling scents of cinnamon and peppermint — revealing an elf, or someone dressed the part, with pretty dark curls and a devastating smirk. He looks Atsumu up and down, gaze lingering briefly on his chest, before raising an eyebrow. “All aboard?” he asks, shaking a bell-covered basket with candy canes.
Maybe he will get on board the Christmas train.
“Uh,” he replies dumbly.
“Tick tock,” the elf says, nodding his head back and forth with the sound. “Doors are closing.”
In which Atsumu's commute home gets interrupted by Santa's Weirdest Little Elf, and Suna is only partially to blame.
