Summary
“My Gale was just a boy when she came for him. His mother and I didn’t see him for years on end. Mystra was his entire world. I am glad that now he knows people like you.”
Astarion raises an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”
“Gale was isolated for so long with only Mystra for company, and it nearly led to his destruction. He needs people in his life to remind him what true friendship and love is.”

Summary
Like most of Gale’s problems since the Nautiloid, this whole mess is Tav’s fault. He doesn’t know exactly what Tav told Astarion when Gale was out of the room, but he trusts that they didn’t betray his confidence. Probably.
Whatever it is has made Astarion act even stranger than normal and it is threatening Gale’s very carefully curated compartmentalization of his feelings for the man.

After finally gaining his freedom, Astarion took Gale to visit his grave. Unfortunately, upon discovering that he did in fact have a surname, Gale decided that the occasion would be the perfect opportunity to hyperfixate over an accent mark.

“Do you want a heart transplant?” He didn’t know what possessed him to ask that. It seemed certifiably insane the moment it left his lips.
Gale sat back regarding Astarion with an unreadable expression. “Honestly? I don’t know,” he sighed. “I mean, obviously, it would be an incredible gift, and I am not going to turn down a match… but I also feel quite sick when I think about some old woman holding a stethoscope to my chest and weeping over her dead child.”
“That is quite a dark thought, isn’t it?”
“I know, I should be thinking about how I’m creating a bit of meaning out of a senseless tragedy, but I would rather not have someone die to make my life a little more comfortable…”
“An amazing gift can still be an immense burden,” Astarion mused. “A heart is a heavy thing to give.”

Summary
There’s always something with the shy ones, Astarion thinks, stroking himself a bit faster. The thought of this shy, demure man spreading himself open on that massive toy is near-dizzying – Astarion has to grip the base of his cock to prevent himself from coming prematurely.
Better yet, he doesn’t need to imagine. He’s about to see it for himself.
“I’m glad to see you all approve,” Gale comments. “While I have your attention though, do excuse me while I take the chance to impart some tips surrounding the use of silicone products.”
What, Astarion thinks.
Gale is quite possibly the worst camboy in all of Faerûn. To his chagrin, Astarion finds out that he's rather into it.

The gang decides to take a thousand mile road trip in a rented van but they did not anticipate how much luggage space they would need (or, rather, how much luggage space Astarion would need). They run out of room and are one seat short.
The solution? Obvious.

“Ah,” Gale startled, “Forgive me. I may have had a little too much to drink, I’m afraid.”
The stranger chuckled, and the sound slid like silk down Gale’s spine.
“What’s the occasion, may I ask?”
“The worst day of my life,” Gale replied, louder than he meant to. He raised his glass in a mock toast and tossed the last of the bourbon back.

Summary
"But first things first. I'm not a whore. If we’re going to do anything tonight, darling, I’ll need to stay a few more days. Are we understood?" It's a half-truth, a sliver of honesty woven into the elaborate lie. He may not be whoring himself out anymore, but survival has a way of twisting morals. Without anyone watching his back, Astarion wouldn't last a day out there with no protection or ammo. His last clip went dry ages ago. If he can't gain this man’s trust, he’d be dead before sunrise. Maybe not from the infection itself, but getting ripped apart by those things is a real possibility – not to mention the raiders and cannibals that terrified him more than those fungus creatures.
Gale's grip on the blanket tightens, knuckles turning white.

“Fine,” she said. “Do you know the statistically most common way for the authorities to take out organized crime?”
Well, if that was her idea of enticing conversation, it was no wonder she had all those evenings free to chase after scoundrels like him. Still, Astarion didn’t want to antagonize her further and ruin the game, so he pursed his lips and guessed, “A very large, well-placed cannon?”
“Tax fraud.”
She looked at him as if she expected some sort of reaction – maybe a dramatic gasp? A palm flung to his forehead in a theatrical rendition of How could I not think of this?
Everything he could muster was a blink. “Tax … fraud.”
She nodded, obviously excited about what Astarion was sure were two of the most boring words in the English language, combined.
"That's how we'll take down Cazador." -

Tasked with preventing his dooming expulsion from office, Zoraya has no choice but to face the man who was once her best friend in the entire world, as well as her childhood crush. A crush that is, of course, ancient history now that Astarion is a perpetually hungover, selfish bastard interested in little else than cementing his standing among the elite of Baldur’s Gate – most notably Lord Cazador Szarr, an enigmatic nobleman with pale skin and an unsettlingly keen interest in Astarion.

Summary
Astarion is fine - he really is just fine, thank you very much. He wants to do his job, do his best to bully his brain into submission each night so he can get a good night's sleep, and stay firmly under everyone's radar. He does not want to work with his irritatingly cheery and dull colleague - Gale Dekarios - on a stupid and meaningless project.
Alas, the universe - or at least Blackstaff Academy - has different ideas.
OR: Gale and Astarion are both tired, traumatised, and undervalued teachers at Blackstaff Academy and, eventually, Gale worms his way under every single one of Astarion's defences.

Summary
“There are better ways to go about this if I wish to speak to someone anonymously,” Gale points out. Shadowheart shrugs, winking at him.
“Sure, but this is possibly the most satisfying one,” she says, and fine, Gale can’t argue with that. But still. Such conversations are surface level at best, and transactional at worst. Besides, it’s not in his nature to consume live internet pornography. He has no desire to share such an intimate act with a complete stranger.
“I would really rather see a therapist,” he says.
Fresh out of a messy divorce, disgraced academic Gale Dekarios finds himself biting off more than he can chew when a seemingly innocuous encounter with an enigmatic camboy, Star, leads him down a precarious path of lies, liberation and eventually—love.
