“That’s always been there,” Caitlyn deadpans, trying not to flush under the realisation of how frivolous it is.
“And you didn’t tell me?”
“Precisely because I knew you’d be insufferable about it.”
Vi’s grin sharpens. “Scared I might get my fill of cupcake elsewhere?”
Caitlyn and Vi have a sweet little lunchbreak date.

Summary
Cait is midway through tying a sprig of those white berries to the point of the spiral staircase which hangs just above her head when she whips around to gawk at Vi like she’s been caught doing something illicit. She blooms a cute red, down to her collarbone, exposed in the blazerless uniform chemise she’s unbuttoned down from its typical, perfectly professional state.
“Welcome back,” Cait says breathlessly. A little… invitingly, if Vi isn’t mistaken. Her girlfriend straightens her posture and looks at Vi like she’s waiting.
Vi huffs a little laugh under her breath. Who is she to deny Caitlyn the compliment she’s so obviously fishing for? “You put these up yourself?”
“I had some spare time,” Caitlyn says, a little smirk gracing her lips.
“They’re nice,” Vi smiles, walking over to inspect the box of decorations, intent on pitching in.
Behind her, Caitlyn is quiet. Then, almost inaudibly, she laughs- awkwardly, nervously, as if shaking off a disappointment.
“They… are.”
Caitlyn and Vi prepare to celebrate their first Snowdown together. Unfortunately, Vi isn't aware of one particular custom- yet.

Summary
“Vi,” she groans, voice hoarse and soon hoarser, fastening her hands onto Vi’s thighs, grip tightening in anticipation.
Her girlfriend nods a bit frantically, mouth in a permanent o of awe and arousal, white-knuckling the base of her cock like she has to press it into herself for a shred of relief. Caitlyn did that to her with nothing but her mouth. It makes her chest roll with eager thunder.
“Yeah,” Vi’s voice is all air, “Okay, c’mon.”
Caitlyn does not have to be told twice. In her eagerness, she foregoes any buildup- a few delicate kisses to the underside or a stroke or two could’ve helped sell the fantasy, but instead she takes the damn thing halfway in one go.

Summary
Sharpsight does not hesitate to approach, her mind banging every which way with almost painful curiosity. Every step sends more prickles through her pelt, as a shape takes form behind the teeth the closer she gets.
Squinting, she makes out the outline of- a cat, fur sticking every which way, head turned away from the exit of its nest. In a sharp motion, it strikes a paw against the wall of its nest, and it rattles, but otherwise stays still.
Then, in the dark, an eye gleams back at her- Sharpsight’s breath catches in her throat, but she holds her ground as sharp, yellowed teeth bare in a quiet snarl.
“Who are you?”
An unlikely alliance of convenience is forged between an idealistic Clan cat and a vengeful and hurt ex-hoarding house cat. They will both learn of what awaits them in Twolegplace- what Sharpsight was never allowed to see over the bridge... and what Red has missed over the last four years.

“This was your idea,” Caitlyn hums lowly, “Surely you can tell me what you’d like me to do.”
She sure could. But Vi had really, really hoped she could get out of saying it outright. “I think you know exactly what you want to do.”
“Not me,” Caitlyn squeezes her thigh gently, looks at her with a gaze that is full of all the heat in this room, sucked in with one slow, fluttery blink. “It’s all for you, darling.”
Vi scoffs- wheezes, more like. “And you’re getting nothing out of this?”
Caitlyn reddens. It always starts near her nose to wrap around her cheeks, ending at her ears in a trackable gradient. It’s a point for Vi in what has so far been a very unbalanced game.
“Don’t deflect,” Caitlyn deflects, squeezing her harder, the leather gloves pinching into the fat of her thighs, “I’m rather curious to hear what you wanted me to do with these.”
The shooting gloves stay on.

Summary
Caitlyn is reminded of a story her mother told her as a girl, of a siren trading her voice for the life of her lover.
Time and time again, Violet has traded her life and happiness for others. She placed her heart in the hands of those she loved and could do nothing but watch as those she trusted squeezed it into atrophy. Caitlyn had done it herself: stomped on Violet’s vulnerable heart without a second glance and left her to bleed out. It’s not something she thinks she’ll ever be able to forgive herself for.
But she won’t make the same mistake twice.

Summary
“You know, you're gonna wear a hole in that picture if you keep glaring at it.” Vi murmurs as she passes behind Caitlyn on the sofa and toward the bookshelf. She doesn't quite see it from her angle, but Caitlyn's staring at the poor younger version of herself as though she'd personally spat at her.
“It's not a picture,” Caitlyn replies, “It's a painting. Oil. Commissioned for a high price when I was around ten years old.”
“Well, thank you for the history lesson, gorgeous. Always appreciate you labelling everything so accurately.” Vi replies, skim-reading the blurb of one of the books.
