    Peter turns to him, eyes wide. “But… it’s for science.”

    Happy raises a finger at him. “No.”

    Peter plans to skip school, and Tony plans to skip the whole damn day by losing himself in his lab.

    Fortunately, May and Pepper have made the executive decision for both of them that spending the day together will be healthier than the two of them hiding away, grieving alone.

    Or, in which through a road trip down the coast, Peter learns more about Tony, and Tony learns more about what fatherhood really means.

    Peter’s professors all seem to know Tony. Instead of calling Peter out for turning in the odd piece of homework late or getting distracted in class like they might do for anyone else, they give him pats on the back in hallways and tell him fondly that, “Tony must be so proud of you, following in his footsteps.”

    Tony wouldn’t be, though. Not if he knew how much effort Peter was having to put in to keep his head above the water.

    He just wants Tony to be proud of him.

    He has to work harder - that’s the only way.

    or, Peter’s college workload and anxiety makes him worry that maybe he’s not good enough for Tony.

    “Mister Stark means a lot to me, M,” Peter says firmly, effectively ending the discussion.

    “I know,” she answers, squeezing his hand where it rests over the cupholder between them.

    Looking out the window, what she thinks to herself is: do you mean that much to him?

    Maybe it’s overprotective or presumptuous of her—she’s only known Peter well for a couple of years and has been dating him for less than one.

    It’s just—in all that time, in all of the stories of his alter-ego’s exploits that he’s finally shared…she just can’t see how the universe-saving multibillionaire fits into all of this.

    MJ joins Peter for a Thanksgiving visit to the Starks’ lake house. It turns out that even after years of quiet observation and a few months of dating, there are still things about Peter Parker and his life that manage to surprise her.

A test flyer, very early stages—Really nothing but graphics and a short list of ideas scribbled in the margins. Nonetheless, Peter grins excitedly and looks back at Tony. "Are you bringing the Stark Expos back?"

    Tony pauses. "Uh... Thinking about it. Scale back, though. You went to one? When was that?"
