Clemenceau filled the kogo with ashy-brown pieces of gum, and Saionji almost doubted it could catch fire until Clemenceau successfully lit it with a match. “Mmm… yeah. It smells nice,” Saionji hummed. “Is it cheaper than agarwood? If so, maybe you should switch over.”
“You’re supposed to be meditating now, not talking to me about money,” Clemenceau retorted.
“Fine, fine.” Saionji reached over and took the wooden fish off the cupboard. Then, he placed it on a sidetable before sitting, in seiza with shoes kicked off, on Clemenceau’s couch. “Feel free to watch, but I doubt you’ll want to stick around for long. I couldn’t imagine anything more boring than watching someone sit and mutter to themselves.”
“Everything you do catches my eye,” Clemenceau answered casually, and Saionji tried to ignore the way heat pooled into his face as he heard that.
Somehow, Saionji has a feeling that this might have been a bad idea.
Saionji meditates in Clemenceau's office. (It fails horribly, until it doesn't.)
