He will. He's not fucking heartless. Velvette called him a doormat earlier and she's fucking wrong, he just knows when to pick his battles, and this is a real boundary he will enforce. Vox isn't allowed to break Val's things.
Angel just has to call for him.
A shrill scream cracks in the air and Valentino flinches, half jolting towards the motel door, before realizing that it was just the storm. Fucking scream rain. He worries the tip of his thumb at the junction between his phone and the case, fiddling with the blunt plastic, resisting the childish urge to chew on his nails.
It's fine. He's being stupid.
Or: Vox leaves Valentino to pick up the pieces of his latest brainwashing session. Valentino takes Angel home.

“I don't usually stick around long enough to find out baby,” Val hums, blowing out another puff of ruby red smoke, “But I have plenty of souls you could've just asked if you've been this curious.”
“We're sinners, Val, I can never trust word of mouth. I need to know for certain myself,” Vox explains to also convince himself this is the only reason he's letting this happen. There's no guarantee that Valentino's saliva would even work on him. But he'd be a better salesman for his business partner if they knew the ins and outs of each other. Even if that meant getting a stomach full of aphrodisiac venom from another man for the night.

The night was turning to dawn. The lamps cast a dim glow over the streets of Pride.
Valentino was queasy at the rosy sky. His leather boots clicked on as he wrapped his coat tighter, now stained and sticky. He exhaled deeply. It was oddly quiet.Gentle fingers over his mouth, exploring, feather-light. His breath hastened. He’s never seen Vox like this. He expected the synthetic skin, the blue-gray complexion, though the vents came as a surprise.
He stretched out on the stern bed of the modern hotel room. Vox had insisted on meeting outside of the VTower—was it for fear of being seen by the employees, for a distaste of mixing business with pleasure (not that Val could understand), or just a need for playing different roles in different places, Val wasn’t sure.
