Summary
The ruins of the city rose up from the ground like shattered teeth, jagged and splintered, biting into the sky with a stark, alien viciousness. A graveyard disturbed, mired fields of churned up earth and chunks of stony rubble. Craters blasted into the pavement, splinters of broken glass glinting between piles of debris like tiny bastard stars– No stone uncracked, no building untouched.
Smokey remnants drifted long between the dimming clouds, thick ribbons of lethargic, billowing ash all black and gunmetal gray, exhaling from toppled buildings like a sigh. Or final breath. It settled over the city’s carcass like a shroud. Like the fog that lingers over the road in the early morning. And everywhere, fires simmered dim and glistening– like clumps of hot coals in a bonfire. Banked, it seemed, from several days of burning, their rage already depleted.
Whatever had happened that night, Amity Park had not gone quietly.

Clever like his mother, they wrote as Timothy bought up small seemingly unprofitable industries and made them bloom under his company’s care, bringing DI’s stocks back to their former glory within a year. A true son of Gotham, they said as Timothy developed his offices in the city and went above and beyond to pay his workers fair wages. Selfless, they called him as Timothy reduced his own salary to ensure DI would survive these changes, sacrificing his time and dreams to keep the company afloat. Tragic, they all but wrote in every article, unable to keep themselves from rehashing his parents’ deaths.
At only 19, Tim is one of the youngest CEOs in the world. He’s certainly the youngest CEO of a fortune 200 company.
And yet, it takes little to make his empire collapse like a house of cards.

digging in the dirt, finding bones, finding ghostsSometimes, grief has a gravity that you never get up from. And sometimes, it leaves little boys that have glass in their teeth and punch-scraped skin with a hole in their heart and blood in their mouth, and a five-year long taste for vengeance over the murder of their best friend.
Gotham claws its way into the hearts of its children and leaves oil-smears on their souls, and for Danny Fenton, he is no different and no better than the rest of his fellow street rats of Crime Alley. It doesn't matter if he's been gone since he was eleven. Blood has always been a part of him, so it's second nature for him to pick up his fists and turn them into claws. It's what he's been taught, after all.
And what he's also been taught, is that arrogance kills, and the Joker has been long since due for his fill.

And death will seep through, as before.
“Are you scared?”
“Yes. No. Both, I—I made the decision already, you know? Fear doesn’t even factor into it now.”
“Couldn’t you—” Sam starts, but catches herself.
Couldn’t you change your mind? No. Not really—not without giving something else up. And Danny doesn’t really want to, besides.
There are just a few short days left before the first of October, when the veil runs thin. Danny is taking care to spend quality time with the people he loves. The people he loves are taking care to spend quality time with him. No one is talking about something, and everyone is tripping over it in their attempts to avoid.
There are just a few short days left. There is a choice that has already been made.
Something is about to end.

Summary
Therapy isn't working out for Tim (possibly because he has like, way too many issues), so Dinah suggests he try music therapy instead. This turns out to be such a good idea he drafts it to his team and suddenly he's moonlighting as a rock singer in a band that's rising in popularity. Maintaining a new "secret" identity is easy enough, and he's having a lot of fun!
Unfortunately for Tim, it seems he's a bit TOO good at the secret identity thing, because his family doesn't seem to realize that it's him.
Ugh, this is just proving his point.

Her nails drag through his hair, forcing it into something presentable. And he spends the next four hours smiling and charming the elite at a Gala.
It is not a particularly harsh punishment, not an utter violation of who he is, but that doesn’t matter. Because Tim will look back on that night four, six, ten years later and all he will remember is having a near panic attack in the car because the suit hurt, because it was too tight and rough, and people were touching his hair and pinching his cheeks and he hated it, and they wouldn’t stop and -
