He can't believe it. He just made a friend!He feels more anxious than happy to be back and his anxiety was right. His friends replaced him with Eddie Munson. Their attention shifts from him to Jane and now that he's back at the Hawkins High he has to face Troy Walsh and his friends again. Over the next few weeks he experiences bullying again and can't handle it properly. He gets insulted and beaten up for being 'a queer' and his friends don't help as much as they used to.
One day after a particular bad beating he cleans up in the school bathroom while having a panic attack and a boy helps him.
The funny thing is he looks just like Mike...

MONDAY“I’m just saying, if ghosts were real, they wouldn’t be hanging out in Hawkins!” Robin argued, feet swinging just above the ground from her perch on the counter they were supposed to keep clean to prep toppings for the ice cream, but three days after training ended, Steve had elected to stop caring about things like that.
He shook his head as he muscled out a scoop from a fresh (freezer-burnt) tub of sorbet. “You are so incredibly wrong it’s not even funny.”
Robin sighed in a way that Steve knew meant she was rolling her eyes, feet tapping an even staccato rhythm against the cabinets as she gently kicked back-and-forth. “No, I am absolutely right. If what you said about ghosts only being formed by super-traumatic deaths is true, then there’s literally no possible way that ghosts hang out in Hawkins.”
Steve couldn’t help but snort. The irony was not lost on him, for once.

Summary
This features my original character, Maya Pillai in the Stranger Things Verse. I am playing around significantly with canon. I know it's sacrilage to some, but at this point, I think our collective imaginations produced a better ending to the series than what the writers did.
Story one features Mike finding El in Iceland after canon events are done with Maya and Will giving him the emotional support he needed. (Mileven, and Will/Maya)
Story two will feature Maya as a part of the original crew right from the beginning and affecting canon significantly. (Mileven, Lumax, Willmaya)
Story three will be shorter and will feature Will as canonically gay and probably with either epilogue boyfriend or Steve Harrington. El's story will be similar to story one except she does return like she did in my first story. Small change is that Mike is with Maya when El returns and she helps him overcome his trauma which brings them closer. I may give El an OC pairing or pair her with Dustin or make her asexual ...
I may write a small lemony two shot with Mike and Maya in one chapter and Will and Maya in another. I haven't made up my mind. Right now, I'm working on story two and it will be up very soon.- Words:

And then Eddie disappeared over spring break, and when he came back, he was changed. He tried to hide it, sure, the same wicked smile still gracing his face, the same restless energy still filling his eyes and his heart, but Wayne could see it in the quiet moments and the way he was almost never sober anymore, and he realised that his best wasn't good enough anymore and he was losing his nephew.
And then Steve fucking Harrington knocked on the door of their new trailer.
