Lando News 🧡 @norrisjournal
Some new faces were around the garage today! This weekend the team received Oscar Piastri, he was part of an engineering program by Mclaren. He’s been working with them for a while now, and already met Lando in the MTC in 2023! Hopefully we can hear more from them soon. 👀

"Uh, hallo? I am, uh, Oscar. I am new, what is it, student? And you?"
Oscar. He practices the name in his head. It rolled off his tongue quite nicely, as much as he hates to admit it. Oscar.
"Hello. I'm Lando, McLaren driver," Lando said, quite clipped, because he had work to do and couldn't waste time on this right now.
"Lan-doo?" Oscar asked, eyebrows rising and Jesus Christ, is Oscar actually stupid, or just taking the piss?
"Your English is terrible, mate."
The words are leaving Lando's mouth before he even realises they've escaped up his throat. A mechanic stops mid screw turn. An engineer drops a pair of safety goggles like it's a bomb.
Oscar looks like he punched him. Lando kind of wants to punch himself.
"Ja, I, um, I know. I - what's the word - ah, yes, try. I try."
Lando swallows the sorry in his throat. It takes a second to go, the guilt heavy in his mouth. It tastes like acid and pain and the apology he probably should say but won't.
His ego is bigger than his empathy, it seems.

She wanted to laugh, to cut the tension, to tell him he was ridiculous — but the words jammed. Instead, she forced her mouth into a curve that felt wrong. “Maybe you should focus on celebrating your win instead of policing my conversations.”
His gaze didn’t flinch. "Policing? ...Is that what you think parc fermé was?”
The word detonated in her chest.
Her throat went dry. She should’ve laughed it off. Made it corporate, transactional, anything. Instead the image ripped back, too sharp: his arms around her, the heat of his race suit, the split-second she’d leaned into it before snapping herself back.
“It was a moment,” she said at last, brittle. “That’s all.”
“Was it?” His words landed soft but sharp.
Her heart slammed. She turned away, desperate for distance, staring hard at the skyline like the neon could ground her. “You’re drunk.”
“Not drunk enough to forget it happened.”

Summary
Oscar Piastri is a dutiful engineering student set for his career in the world of motorsport, as he enters his last year of university. When the company he works at announces a competition for an internship opportunity at the McLaren Formula One Team, he applies without much thought. He never anticipated he would actually get in and he had accepted he would probably never land a job in the pinnacle of motorsport. He does not even want it. Or so he thinks. He gets thrown into the chaos of the McLaren team at the worst possible time, as they deal with the aftermath of Brazil. And there is Lando. Lando who Oscar had deemed to be an asshole before ever having met him. Lando who makes mistakes, who feels broken. Lando who absolutely should not be Oscar's to put back together. Yet a series of events makes Oscar look at him differently. But will he stand to face the difficult reality of his own feelings?

Lando didn’t ask for a bodyguard.
Oscar didn’t ask to care.
But in the shadow of flashing cameras and the memory of a lock picked open in the night, the lines between duty and desire blur until they break. -

Summary
Lando leaned against the kitchen counter, fingers curled loosely around a bottle of beer, watching as people milled around—laughing, sharing cigarettes out on the balcony, dancing lazily to the lo-fi playlist Max had put on loop. He wasn’t quite bored, but he wasn’t quite present either. These kinds of parties blurred together lately: familiar faces, predictable small talk, the constant flicker of eyes when people recognised him.
Until him.
The guy sitting cross-legged on the floor near the bookshelf, in jeans that looked too comfortable to be fashionable and a knitted jumper that made him look like he’d wandered in from a chilly night out. He had dark brown hair that curled at the ends and a focused kind of presence, like someone listening intently to a song only he could hear.
Oscar.

“Not your type?” Oscar seriously considered grabbing the remote from Lando’s hand and knocking himself unconscious with it. That way, he couldn’t say more stupid things.
“No,” is all Lando replied, but the look on his face told Oscar that he was contemplating something, that he wanted to add something else. His face was blank except for the little purse of his lips and the slight crease between his eyebrows. Oscar wanted to press his thumb to that spot to smooth out the skin.
OR Oscar had always ignored being Bisexual. And then he met Lando Norris.

Summary
The obsession had started the second his eyes had fallen upon it during the podium celebration. He had almost snatched it from the man who handed it to him, playing it off as a joke and shaking the man's hand anyways. The trophy was heavy in his hands, a weight he welcomed. He couldn’t tell if the buzz throughout his body was from the post race adrenaline or from the porcelain in his hands. It didn’t matter. His body moved before his brain did. He brought the trophy to his mouth and kissed it. He licked his lips after, savoring the taste.
A seemingly normal celebration, athletes kissed their medals, their trophies, even drank out of shoes to celebrate victories. To anyone else, this was to be expected. To Lando, it was everything.

“Anyway, what are you doing here all on your own ? Got stood up by a hot date like me ?" Lando questioned with a raise of his brows.
Oscar chuckled drily. "Sadly no. I was with a friend who left with some moto guy, I think ? So I got out. Guess I need to find myself a hot date now," he joked, casting a side glance at Lando, not overtly flirty, but still clear enough in intent.
Lando smiled, flattered, and could feel heat rise to his cheeks. Sue him, he could not stay unbothered when a handsome guy flirted with him, even when that was not the person he had intended to end the night with. Plans changed, he supposed.
Or : Lando deserves better, Oscar agrees.
