Summary
They’re going to kill Jun-ho. The realisation hits him like a truck as the guard leads him outside the room, the door clicking shut behind them. His legs feel strange, like he’s walking in a body that’s not his own. With his free hand, he reaches for the phone in his pocket. He still has the recording, right? He can send it out— maybe there will be signal, or—
He’s not wearing his suit. Jun-ho is still wearing black, but his hands are covered in gloves, and there’s a dark coat on him. Had someone changed his clothes? He thinks back to the old man, his fingers tracing Jun-ho’s face, wrinkled and clammy, his touch burning on Jun-ho’s skin. His mind felt no less fuzzy, his memory still spotted as he looked around the hall. And at the end, there was…
In-ho?

Summary
Once the Salesman swears he won’t breathe a word about this conversation to anyone else, especially Captain Hwang, Jun-ho admits, “I’m trying to set hyung up.”
“That girl is a bit young for your brother, don’t you think? By, oh I dunno, several decades?"
“What?” They both gaze down at the blank screen of his phone. “No, not her. Her dad! But how would I even start that message? ‘Hey random kid I don't know. Question for you. Is your dad open to dating a man? If so, I know a guy.’”
… oh god, what the fuck is he doing? Jun-ho should have kept his mouth shut. The last thing his brother needs is rumors spreading around the office about his sexuality!
“I mean, to be clear, I don’t know if hyung is even attracted to men -”
“Are you?”
“What?”
“I said, ‘The Captain isn’t attracted to anyone'. So at this point, if someone catches his attention, I personally don’t think gender matters.”
Jun-ho lets out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. He forgot they both saw the same thing. Some schmuck of a spirit must be possessing Captain Hwang whenever Seong Gi-hun comes around, because that was not his charismatic, charming, self-assured hyung in there!

Summary
This story is still a work in progress, but I'm trying to update it as frequently as possible.
I'm actually going to slitghly rewrite the first two chapters because they betray the flow that I want to give to the story.
Idk how to add these tags, but:
The Salesman's name is Kang DoyunIn-Ho feels immense guilt for shooting Junho and has tasked the recuiter with keeping him away from the games.
The Recruiter starts playing with the officer, getting tickets for speeding and parking, trying to annoy him. Junho is lonely and vulnerable, and grows fond of these interactions, but won't admit it to himself.
The Recruiter understands feelings and people, but doesn't feel anythign intensely.
One of these two die at the end of the story :3
Anyway, toxic yaoi on top

They had returned to land, did they accomplish anything? No. Not in Jun-ho’s mind. But whether or not they did was irrelevant, the detective and mercenary were at this point in time where they had to part ways and yet even though Jun-ho had been preparing for it, he didn’t want to say goodbye to the man.

Summary
“You provoked me,” Mr. Kim said, breath steady. Jun-ho smiled. He didn’t know what this was, but it felt like something beginning.
The mission is clear: shut down the Games. But Jun-ho didn’t expect to meet someone who’d make him feel like that.

Jun-ho thought receiving the money and baby was enough. Enough proof that his brother cared about him, at least a little bit. That now he could move on and live his life.
But it wasn't. He still missed him.
He tries to ignore his feelings and does a pretty good job of it, until the phone rings on a Tuesday night, from an anonymous number.
He picks it up. “Hello?”
“Detective Hwang.”

Part AU
This is a prequel story about the Hwang brothers before Inho became the Frontman.
I am writing this based on my headcanon mixes with Squid Game canon. That's why I call this story Part AU.
----------‐----------------------------------
Junho was a quiet, determined teenager in high school, dreaming of becoming a police officer like his older half-brother, Inho. With a sixteen-year age gap between them, Inho had raised Junho with unwavering love and fierce protectiveness, acting as both a parent and brother after their complicated family history. As Junho worked hard toward his future, he unknowingly battled a chronic illness that slowly took its toll. When a sudden collapse revealed he was in late-stage kidney failure, their world was turned upside down. With time running out and the cost of treatment insurmountable, Inho was forced to make an unthinkable choice—one that led him down a dark and secretive path to save the person he loved most.
