Alastor has always been an opportunist. When a good opportunity falls into his lap like a red apple fell onto Sir Isaac Newton's head, he'll take it and use it to his best benefit. But the thing Alastor finds a little bit pathetic about himself is that, unfortunately, he IS also an Altruist. Besides, sometimes replanting that apple, making it grow and thrive, could bring him more benefits than gorging on it the second he gets it.

Finally, Lucifer asked, “Did you get a tan?”
Alastor blinked. “Excuse me?”
“A tan,” Lucifer repeated.
Slowly, Alastor set down his book. “A tan?”
Lucifer huffed, tired of this pointless back and forth. “Yeah. You’re a few shades darker now.”
A couple beats passed before Alastor said, in the most puzzled voice Lucifer had ever heard from him, “I’ve always been this color?”
A snort. Lucifer sat on the arm of the chair, delightfully causing Alastor to scoot a few inches away. “No, Alastor, you were a few shades lighter yesterday.”

Summary
Alastor didn't become as powerful as did so quickly on his own, he had help. Akos, an enigmatic figure in Hell, had taught him what he needed to know to not only survive, but thrive in Hell.
However, after reconnecting with them after the attack on the Hotel, questions start to arise about Akos' identity. Along with feelings he had never felt before toward a certain King of Hell. Things as he understood them start to get turned upside down and on top of all that is the mystery of who his soul owner wants dead.
Will Alastor be able to navigate all this and survive with both his soul (and sanity) intact?
