Kaveh’s jaw drops, gasping with all the dramatics that this situation requires. Alhaitham’s eyebrows even raise slightly, almost like he’s impressed. “What?” Kaveh whispers. “This is the same guy who once told a toddler sobbing in the street to get a hold of himself, yes?”
“Precisely.” Really, Tighnari doesn’t consider himself one prone to gossip. He’s more so… intrigued. Have they known each other for a long time? If so, why haven’t they ever heard of or seen him until now? And how would they know each other?
There's a new dragon in town, and he somehow has the ability to befriend Hat Guy of all people. Tighnari, Cyno, Alhaitham, and Kaveh (who have all known Hat Guy for much longer, thank you) are determined to solve the mystery.

“Glad to see you back among the living,” Phainon says through a yawn, clearly having spent the night in the uncomfortable chair in the infirmary by Mydei’s side. Like he often does.
Mydei’s head hurts. Just the regular kind of pain, easily managed by ignoring it until it goes away. But what makes it worse, is the confusion at his predicament. The memories returning to him in death used to vary in time and people who appeared in them. Why is it always Phainon nowadays?
“Fuck you,” Mydei says, hoarsely. He feels like he is losing his mind.
Phainon’s mouth locks mid-yawn and he blinks down at him stupidly, tilting his head with confusion. It’s probably fair, he hasn’t even done anything to earn Mydei’s ire as of late.
or; Human brain lives for a few more minutes after dying, replaying the most cherished memories. Mydei starts seeing Phainon after each of his deaths.

In the cover of the dark, Livio waited for Nick to settle the not-angel in the backseat and crawl in next to them.
Livio drove slowly, taking each curve down the winding road gently, so as to not disturb them more than they had to, and to keep Nick’s stomach from jumping into his throat each time they drove past a cliffside.
The heat that poured from the vents was nearly tangible, turning the air in the car humid, and leaving Nick miserable under his coat. But soon enough it did its job, and the angel moved in their sleep, curling in on themself and shivering as their body finally woke from the cold enough to save itself from it.
Blood was smeared on the seats, dried on Nick’s skin and clothes. Downy feathers fluttered to the ground, and he knew that Livio would likely never rid the car of them entirely.Or: a simple hike takes a drastic turn when Nick and Livio stumble across an injured angel alone in the woods.

Or, cats purr when they feel happy and safe or are in pain and need to self-soothe. Vash does the same. But Vash doesn’t have many moments where he feels happy and safe, so Wolfwood and Meryl only ever hear him purr when he’s injured or hurting. The first time they hear him purr from happiness, they panic.

Joker gasped as bizarre doors flickered into existence.
One, a monolithic set of stone doors engraved with an alien image, cracked open to reveal a terrifying eye swimming in a void. The next, a glowing white shoji door exuding a strange energy that prickled at their very souls. The third, a circular ornate gate set in the floor, the bulging eyes at the top drank in the scenery as its gaping mouth pooled with vile black sludge. The final was nothing more than a fluctuating cloud of black and purple mist.

The cruelest thing about the Nameless was that they made it so easy to pretend that Sunday belonged.
