Even though he's reclutant at first, Verso quickly discovers that maybe it won't be that difficult to keep that promise. Gustave's company is not so bad and maybe he does have it in him to try to enjoy life again.

The use of his full name was deliberate. Not a question, not a tease. A claim. It landed in Gustave’s gut like a stone, heavy and cold, followed by the slow bloom of heat at his throat where the bruises still ached.

On the gilded throne Lord Ancunin sits, imperial, a carmin cape draped over his shoulder. The black silk and rich embroidering of his tunic, reflects his wealth and taste for luxury. He is coiffed with a delicate golden tiara inlaid with onyx and ruby retaining his silvery locks away from his red eyes.
Submissive, shivering and silent, his consort, Gale Dekarios, rests across the Lord's lap. He shivers, the chill of the room grazing his bare skin. His chest is flushed and he is slightly turned toward his master, cupping part of his face in embarrassment.
One of Astarion's hand hold a strong grip on his waist while the other rest on his thigh, mindlessly caressing it.

She looked at him as if she expected some sort of reaction – maybe a dramatic gasp? A palm flung to his forehead in a theatrical rendition of How could I not think of this?
Everything he could muster was a blink. “Tax … fraud.”
She nodded, obviously excited about what Astarion was sure were two of the most boring words in the English language, combined.
