"She loved her. It ached within her. When she was younger, it ached in her in the ugliest ways. It made her angry, it made her jealous. She wanted to be the only person in Adora’s hurricane, the only person pulled into the vortex. She was livid when anyone else got close enough to be caught in the wind tunnel.
It took the end of the world to realize she was never in Adora’s vortex, as she had once liked to think of it (all consuming, painful, inescapable). There was never any reason to fight or claw or scream for her place within her storm. She was never caught in the wind, swinging out wildly, hands reaching for her, for golden, darling Adora, who Catra had wanted so badly, she was willing to die out in the gale.
Needless.
Why did it take until now to realize that she wasn’t in the hurricane? She was in the eye. She had always been there."

“Seriously, Adora. All that money for, like, holding hands in front of a camera? It can’t get easier than that. You endured me for like, ten years? I’m sure you can power through these four weeks.” She gets up and leans on the back of her chair, getting closer to Adora’s face. “Just don’t fuck it up and we’ll be fine.”
Adora scowls at her and forces herself to not start another argument. Catra ignores it and turns away.
“See ya later, girlfriend.” She says over her shoulder.
Girlfriend. Adora shudders at that word.
Only after Catra is gone Adora remembers they didn’t even plan anything out. She closes her eyes and rubs her temples again, taking another deep breath. Four weeks of pretending to be Catra’s girlfriend. Those are about to be the longest weeks of her life.

Wherever the rest of Entrapta’s sentence is going to go, it falls away. The whole room falls away as understanding hits Catra like a bolt of lightning, an electrifying shock to her system that leaves her reeling. Getting married? Her and Adora? Questions well up on her tongue — What? Why? — and she doesn’t realize she has fumbled through those fragmented inquiries until Frosta answers her.

And Zuko, now heir to the throne, is known more for his dashing good looks than his leadership.
