Summary
This is little moments from the movie where I want, ‘wow I wonder how Juds alluded to previous life impacts how he thinks and feels in these scenes. It must really suck’ and then I wrote all that down.

Jud feels the fist of Monsignor Wicks collide with his stomach.
“You’re angry, you should be. It’d be dangerois if you weren’t,”
The Monsignor is speaking to him. He knows that, but it’s not just the Monsignor’s fist he feels. It’s his first fight in the ring, and it’s the fist of his father, and it’s the fist of the man he killed in the ring. It’s hard to keep straight whose fist it is because in the moment Jud’s mind remembers a hundred punches just like this one.

Summary
In a world in which supernatural creatures exist, immortal beings rely on a potion to preserve their sanity: If taken every couple of decades, Praeservitum erases just enough memories from an immortal lifespan to make sense of them all and live an unburdened life.
Joe is a vampire who's never had trouble with Praeservitum. If his life sometimes feels a bit lonely, he doesn’t want to blame a memory potion for it.
Nicky is a werewolf who has grown sceptical of the potion, as he feels increasingly like there is something missing from his life that used to be there, if only he could remember.
A chance encounter sees Nicky rescue Joe from a sticky situation. Although apprehensive of each other at first – they are a vampire and werewolf, after all – Nicky offers to help Joe when his friend goes missing. As they embark on a journey through the night, their lives unravel before them: where are all these memories coming from? And is this really the first time they’ve met?

I said it before and I'll say it again. This series changed my life for the better, and I'm infinitely grateful to it. It's well thought out, well written, and has stuck in my brain since i first read through it nearly 7 years ago. A+, 10/10 would recommend.

Summary

Izzy is short and skinny for his age. He’s full of scars and venom from the things he’s been forced to do to live as one of Hornigold’s boys. He usually knows better than to fight back against whatever foster parent he gets stuck with, knows better than to draw attention.
But every man has their breaking point.
The stitches are still fresh when they pull him into the meeting room of the group home. It seems they’ve finally managed to track down his father, who was very surprised to learn he had a child.
Now it seems he's gaining a family, whether he wants it or not.

Summary
"You..are not allowed to teach him how to be you," Blackbeard spoke sharply, his words hissed through his teeth as Izzy struggled beneath him. His feet slipped on the surface of the wood trying to get some sort of footing to push himself away, but it only made Edwards grip on his hair tighten.
Or, Izzy Hands has some conflicting feelings about helping Stede, but he needs to do whats best for his captain.
