Summary
Liquid water wet his arms again, burning against the angry scratches raked across his surface. That lonely ache panged in his core another time, mourning something–someone. Multiple someones–and grieving the loss. He misses them. He doesn't know who. He never knows who. It's always a mystery.
One that he was too miserable to solve.
That empty part of his core, sitting like the missing part to a big, unknown puzzle, stung like his arms, the pain worming itself deeper into his very being. It called out, desperate for the missing parts to return and make him whole again. Happy again. He didn't know why he was so convinced it could do that, but it felt true.
It felt so close. Like the last part to solving the mystery was right under his nose. He could feel it. He knew it was there. He knew if he just reached out and pushed a little harder, he could find his way back.
But he didn't know how.

Dear Diary,
I think that's what this is? I mean…it says 'Diary' on the cover, so like it couldn't really be anything else, right? I don't even know what a diary is…
Ah, wait! I'm getting ahead of myself! I didn't even introduce myself–or, wait, do you introduce yourself in your own diary? Nobody else is going to read this, it's just going to be mine (hopefully nobody will read it. It's mine. Nobody should be snooping around, I have rights to my own privacy!!!), so it sounds kinda stupid to tell a bloody book who I am.
…which is another problem. I don't really know who I am–which isn't that big of a deal, don't worry!!! It's just a little annoying. I want to have a name, I want to know who I am, I want to know my purpose in life.
It can't just be this…right?

He'd felt so light. So, so wonderfully light. Laughing and joking, just being able to exist with someone other than himself and the creepy asteroids that haunted his orbit, stars it made his life a bajillion times more better.
But, of course, naive little Neptune didn't know what was to come.
He didn't know that the warmth doesn't last forever.
He didn't know that soon, the darkness would reign over him once more.

Oh how he loved his husband.
A smile ghosted Saturn's lips, giddy and playful like the same feelings bubbling up in his core. Even after all this time, even after confessing their love for one another and getting married and kissing and everything else, he still felt like that dorky kid who'd just seen Jupiter for the first time and fell in love.
Safe to say, Saturn was very lucky.
He curled further into Jupiter's chest, the big, heavy arm draping over his shoulder like a second blanket giving Saturn the safety and security he needed. The warmth of their bodies melded together, the soft and fluffy kind that wasn't too hot or uncomfortable.
It was the warmth that came with the undying, unwavering, and unending love they had for one another.

"Yeah!" Charon, from further down the line, her voice tinged with a tired drawl to it as her body basically melted into Pluto's, added. Ah yeah, she would be tired: Ceres was a handful and she did the most work out of all of them to take care of him. Speaking of which…tiny, squeaking snores could be heard from underneath the table, after they finally managed to put Ceres asleep, and wow was the tiny dwarf planet a deep sleeper. Hmm, they really need to do something to thank Charon…throw a party maybe?
After Makemake's own party of course!
Another wave of giddiness crashed over Makemake at the reminder, the warm, fluffy feeling turning to the energetic buzz beneath his surface. His leg bounced in his place in his seat, fingers drumming against the table, the feeling expanding in his chest like a bubble.
Focus, Makemake. Focus so you can get this done and celebrate your birthday afterwards.

"Says you..." Saturn groaned, burying his face into the pillow. He might as well let the pleasant sensations wash over him... that was the whole reason they were down here, wasn't it? "You hold up the entire asteroid belt, dearest."
"And you hold two-hundred and eighty-five moons."
Pop!
The ringed giant shuddered. "Don't remind me..."
"I won't." Jupiter promised, leaning down to kiss his hair while his hands continued their magic. "Today is about you and me, after all."
That's right... they were down here for a reason, after all.
Something that Earth had mentioned his Earthling couples do all the time. Something that, for some reason, had caught Jupiter's attention- and he'd gotten stuck on for reasons Saturn didn't understand.
Today, they were going to have a date.

Jupiter and Saturn going on their first, actual, PROPER date!
Except everything goes wrong, Jupiter is weirdly adament for reasons his beloved can't understand... and all Saturn wants is just a kiss!

Earth pulled the book out of orbit, flicking through it while talking. “It’s more of a logic puzzle than math, but it does have numbers so um… technically? I think…” he trailed off and cleared his throat. “Would you like to learn how to play?”
“Yes!” Neptune liked numbers after all. And it was quieter here. He folded his legs up beneath him and leaned forward, attentive.
“It’s actually meant to be a one person game,” Earth explained, showing him the contents of the pages. A grid with a seemingly random scattering of numbers going from one to nine. Neptune felt himself perk up even more. “I can teach you the basics— you’ll probably pick it up fast anyway— and then I can give it to you for you to do in your orbit?”
Neptune tapped his fingers together excitedly, and nodded.

It gave Titan something to focus on, at least. "Iapetus, come back into his shadow." Titan gently encouraged, already pulling the little moon back with his gravity.
"Says the moon with the liquid ocean." Even though he complained, the smaller moon thankfully did as Titan asked, stepping behind him. "You arent going to evaporate, are you?"
Wha- why was he getting worried about Titan? He was fine! Sure, his oceans felt hotter than usual- but it was good, he was good!
Even his livings on his surface felt livelier than usual. Titan could actually feel them move, a feeling he simply... felt too overwhelmed to describe. When he had felt that first step... or swim, or whatever, he'd been so happy, Titan could have cried.
Only to remember that no one in his system knew yet. Not his planet, nor any of the moons, because Titan hadn't told them yet. He hadn't earned to tell them yet.
Or
Due to the materials on his surface... if Titan were put in the Goldilocks zone, he would develop a greenhouse effect as strong as Venus.
An effect that when everyone shares their orbits, his livings do not react well to. At all.

Titania, clearly clueless on how to calm... her sibling turned to Uranus, looking hopeless for just a moment- only a moment before she remembered she was angry, expression turning to stone once more. His heart shattered as she turned around, and left, heading to the other side behind Sun-
Taking his number twenty-nine with her.

After returning to the solar system and not being allowed to cross the asteroid belt, it seems Uranus will need to find a new way to apologize to his moons... again.
Or
August 19 2025, a new Uranian moon called S/2025 U1 was discovered.
Meaning that while Uranus ran away from the solar system, his moon count went up to 29.
