By the time they neared the rebuilt camp the Sun had long since fallen below the horizon, being swallowed by the depth of night as it crested the mountains far off. Still, with the brightness of the full moon above them and the hellish glow of the erupting Colossus in the distance, the arrival of night brought little change.
As their odd group made their way back into camp, they were welcomed by a rousing celebration. The grizzled human had greeted them, looking worse for wear but stubbornly alive. Shepherd was glad to see the man. None of them knew what the casualties would look like coming out of this battle, with the odds stacked the way they were, and the numbers certainly weren’t what they were beforehand, but even still, he’s more than relieved to see a majority of the crew alive.Series

The eyes would stare, rapt attention never once leaving him.
“We missed you.” They whispered, words unanimous and demanding. “Your story hasn’t ended yet.”
He glared from where he sat, painfully aware of the way the store looked uncanny to a set. The register felt fake, manufactured. The lines of cigarettes behind him looked like a poster. Isles of shitty artificial snacks faded into the darkness of the unlit audience.

A shiver ran up Quackity’s spine and he looked away from the water. Rubbing his arms, he tried to get some heat back into his skin even as the soaked clothing stuck to it.
Just as he was about to ask Cucurucho another thousand questions -that would likely go unanswered, the door once again swung open. Cucurucho paused in its hopping as it too looked towards the door.
Quackity leaned forward to get a better look at the newcomer. Only to see himself looking back.

Then stomping steps rang out through the hallway and Bobby came barreling in. Roier and Jaiden both shouted in joy when their boy slammed into them, pulling them into a group hug. She quickly wrapped her arms around them both and squeezed hard, desperate to remember this warmth.
Once Bobby pulled away and pulled out a sign, Jaiden knew the day began.
It wasn’t over. Not yet.

Quackity had spent his life running, physically and metaphorically. He was used to the panic and beating heart that came with the flood of adrenaline.
For so many years he'd been on his own in his own personal hell. There was always someone over his shoulder he had to look for, someone he had to fear. Maybe that's why after so long, it feels so weird to have someone beside him instead.
He just never would have expected to find those people on the deck of a ship, running for the last time.

He woke up in a lethargic bliss, warm and whole. Hands ran through his hair as quiet, bright voices whispered above him. Quackity smiled before he even opened his eyes.
"Is sleeping beauty awake already?" The hand in his hair slowed to a stop at Karl’s voice. “He’s like a baby bird, Sap look.”
Karl laughed loudly at his own comment, Sapnap following. They moved closer, seemingly trying to smother Quackity with the duvet. Quackity made a noise of protest that was quickly drowned out by the snickering above him.
Despite the way he began to kick and squirm away from his fiances, Quackity’s smile never left. His wings pushed against the blankets and Sapnap as they tried to flap in elation.

Summary
The place looked like something Quackity had imagined there in bed, resting against the two people he loved.
The flowers were the same ones he had chosen for Karl, all the same color and type he had scribbled down once. All of the drapery and decoration were a collection of white and golds to match the suits Quackity had picked. Even the seats were doused and practically painted in fire resistance, just in case.
Everywhere Quackity looked in there was a past thought and consideration. The place was so full of the love he was willing to give it hurt.

Summary
There's a disease, it only ever seems to affect children, often turning them into violent monsters. It took four years for people to take it for what it is, which is a disease that turns their children into violent monsters. Go figure.
In those four years, the world slowly fell apart. A steady stream of progressively worse events led to a governmental mandate for safety camps, places where the non-infected children would go in order to ensure the continuation of the human population.
Wilbur didn't particularly care for these mandates, nor for the way they were tearing children away from their only family. So he did the responsible thing by taking Tommy and running.

Sapnap blocked yet another swipe of a sword and pushed forward, shoving his opponent off balance. He knocked their sword aside and jabbed his own into their gut. Without giving them time to realize they’d been stabbed, Sapnap yanked it out and moved on to the next person. A scream rang out right next to him, making him wince.
The battle was continuing like any other so he didn’t mind pushing past people to look for his fiances. Normally he would be in the throes of the fight, viciously downing every person that came close. But normally Karl would be waiting in the med-wing brewing more healing pots and Quackity would be safely observing on a balcony, always more prone towards strategy than actual fighting. So it was not a normal battle. He barely even remembers why the other two had to be on the field, but they were.
