The figure is small, with large black wings littered with eyes and glowing purple around the edges of their figure--a Watcher. But Mumbo watches as the figure seems to change before his eyes. As they fall the darkness seems to drain out of them, until all that remains is a seemingly normal avian plummeting through the sky. Their hair is pale brown, their wings banded red, blue, and yellow.
Wait. Mumbo knows those wings.
Grian has been missing, assumed dead, for years. Mumbo isn't okay, but he's learned to keep going. Imagine his surprise when Grian falls right back into his life, literally.

He comes to consciousness slowly, his processor fans whirring heavily as they try to assess the damage. It's not an unfamiliar awakening, but it never gets any easier. Bumblebee groans softly, trying to sit up as his HUD fills with warnings that probably mean nothing. He gets ready to dismiss them when one catches his attention—energon levels critically low, system shutdown initiating.
Suddenly, everything comes crashing back to him as his optics finally come online again—Mandroid, the arena, the arachnipede—and he sits up frantically, analyzing his surroundings.
or: bee has people who care about him now, which he's not used to. twitch is dealing with some feelings on the topic that she's not used to. alex and dot are possibly the greatest characters of all time (what else is new?)

Somewhere in the midst of Megatron first cradling the sparkling in the ruins to him training the young mech in the stony walls of Kolkular—the warlord’s memory started to blur right in-between. Attachment is a death wish in war, deadlier when one doesn’t even realize their affection has already deeply rooted.
And that is exactly what Megatron has done to himself. A monster with a spark softened ever so slightly by a yellow sparkling.
Or an AU where Bumblebee is raised by Megatron and the Decepticons. A story of a stranger that knows no home and a monster that destroyed his home.

It was an unspoken rule within the group (or maybe it was just their collective instincts that agreed) that the older ones are to look after the younger, and while Legend isn’t older than Wild but by a year, the rule still stood, in the vet’s mind. Would they blame him for getting them both killed? Would they regret sending Legend out with Wild to go patrol before the Shift happened? Would they regret bringing Legend along to begin with, after he got one of their members crushed to death?
This was exactly why Legend never wanted to be a leader. He’s never handled having lives in his hands well.

When you first bring it up, Wash gives a dry laugh and shakes it off, but you can tell that he's uneasy. There is absolutely no need for that. You are not who you used to be, no longer crazy. The memories are still there and you will never be able to forget, but you are in control now. Nothing could go wrong.
The second time you ask he firmly rejects the idea. He tells you that he is not comfortable with having someone in his head again. He doesn't blame you for what happened, but he makes it very clear that he's not interested in hosting you again. You accept his answer and silently make plans to convince him otherwise.
