Dennis should probably only blame himself when it happens.
He knows driving tired results in accidents. Hell, he’s seen the aftermath of those. He’d even told Trinity to never be one of those people brought into the Pitt after falling asleep behind the wheel.
And still.
He's clearly not good at following his own advice.
Or, Dennis falls in love, finds out he hates physical therapy, and owes Trinity a new car. Not quite in that order.

“I was.”
“She cancelled?”
“I’ll cancel. Toss me my phone?”
“What? No”, Dennis gapes. “I mean, why?”
“I’m being shitty at you, and you’re not even doing anything.”
He frowns and goes get her phone. She takes it and starts typing.
“It’s different. She’s your partner”. And a woman, he doesn’t say.
“You’re my friend.” Her phone receives a text and she types faster, frowning.
“Trin, please—”, she holds a finger up, asking him to be quiet. He gapes, offended, but shuts his mouth.
She types and types, and slowly forgets about tears. Instead, a smile grows wider and wider. Dennis doesn’t know if he should be relieved or scared.
“So,” she says, after sending one last text and putting her phone away. “I have a proposition”.
Or,
When Trinity's heat is around the corner, Dennis is sure he'll spend the next week sleeping in the streets. Instead, she finds him a roommate.

Summary
As requested by LadyJadeRains! What would have happened if Will's encephalitis was a little worse, and the psychic driving had been a little more effective, such that Will genuinely believed that he had committed the Copycat Killings and also murdered Abigail Hobbs?
Will is having a very terrible time. He believes he is the Copycat. He believes he killed and ate his surrogate daughter.
Matthew Brown provides comfort inside the BSHCI, and Will feels as though he doesn't deserve the kindness, the support, the physical touch. Hannibal Lecter provides his own comfort, when he can, but he seems frustrated about the way the trial is progressing and Will's perception of himself. Both men want more from him and Will, lonely, vulnerable, desperate for connection, is reaching back.
However, neither of them are the sharing type, and both of them are perceptive enough to see what the other is doing. They will have to confront each other eventually, but when they do, will they be able to find an alternative means of resolving things? Who, truly, has the right to possess Will Graham?
And, more importantly, is Will going to agree?

Summary
Dennis couldn't remember the last time he had been present in a space that wasn't cleaned of him. It might have had something to do with a more conservative upbringing, or the plethora of children inhabiting a house built for Christian magazines. White walls, white counters, white tile. If he'd stayed, he'd be wearing his white shirts, an outward manifestation of the clean body underneath.
Otherwise known as Dennis's religious trauma, leading to him living as a Beta. He becomes obsessed with Robby and Jack because their scents can get through his thoroughly abused nose and set his hormones ablaze. Of course, he knows both men are probably already mated and pupped up, so he tries to ignore it. Unless.

Summary
AU in which Will receives a secret admirer with a penchant for writing him poetry and slaughtering the innocent in artistic fashions. No one ever told him that courtship was so bloody or appealing -rather, so bloody appealing? He's a part-time bartender that can't catch a break, but at least he has one loyal customer who doesn't seem to mind bouncing from restaurant to bar to restaurant in order to have his favorite drink made by his favorite person.
There couldn't be a correlation though; Dr. Lecter is an upstanding psychiatrist that just likes his drinks served a certain way, and the Chesapeake Ripper keeps sending love letters in the hopes of one day eating him. One is, quite frankly, flattering, the other...
Will isn't stupid enough to tell anyone that it's also equally flattering, albeit horrifying at the same time. It's up for interpretation.

Dear Will Graham,
I adored your analysis of the Minnesota Shrike. How quickly you boxed him into a corner and revealed his hand! Surely the ladies on campus will sleep better knowing to avoid anyone that looks remotely like them with a father in tow. That, or perhaps you’ve inspired them all to dye their hair a poignant shade of blonde until the next killer comes along.
I wonder if your clever little mind would be able to catch someone like me, however; would you be interested in playing a game, Mr. Graham? I’ve grown bored as of late, and the city is not much to entertain these days. You can respond in your new column. Congratulations, by the way.

After years of trying to deal with others' cooking, Will has resigned himself to a life of anonymous fast food and frozen dinners — things that don't trigger his empathy.
But when a new doctor shows up and insists on feeding him, Will's palate will be challenged for the first time in years.
Basically: Will can taste feelings, and Hannibal's got some "crème fraîche" he'd like Will to try...

Will is already having a pretty rough night, since Hannibal proposed to him and Will said 'No' for reasons he still hasn't quite figured out yet. It's not their fault - they couldn't have known - but sometimes people have to learn lessons the hard way, and Will could definitely use some stress relief.

Summary
It's a shame to see such a remarkable mind go to waste, but the decision is still an easy one to make in the end. Will Graham is horribly, irrevocably rude. From the way he talks, to the way he dresses, to the glares shoots at Hannibal anytime he deems to speak. The way Will doesn't fight him when it comes down to it is odd, but Hannibal harvests his meal and leaves a scene behind for Jack Crawford to behold nonetheless.
That truly should've been the end of it. And it is, up until Hannibal walks into Jack Crawford's office the next day to find Will Graham very much alive, and very much not happy to have had sunflower petals shoved down his throat.
Or: Will Graham can't be killed. Hannibal Lecter finds this out the hard way.
