Old stuff I wrote that I'm honestly horrified at rereading from 2006. What keeps me from deleting em:

    1. to spite FF.net

    2. to remind me of how far I've come (gotta keep this Tentacle humble)

    3. cause going by all the follows and such over there people really liked my stuff (and the N/J ship) so for posterity they'll live here

    Summary

In terms of Yautja world building we as a fandom have had our share of interesting lore - we have often explored ableism, xenophobia, cultural aspects, but there is one social stigma in particular that we had never TRULY have gotten an answer for, and it oft reflects on the way we engage with it, not only IN our fanworks, but as a FANDOM.

Which presents itself as a question: WHAT in the world is going on in Yautja society when it comes to the subject of rape?

REMINDER: this is an essay talking about the TROPE of noncon in Yautja FAN works, and how it relates to the worldbuilding across fandom/fanon, and is NOT meant to undermine the fics/visual works of any particular person, but to open a discussion about why and how this trope is portrayed so often in Yautja smut in all the good and problematic ways it can be

TW: we're talking about rape culture, conservative ideology, terf/radfem ideology, incest, CSA, and attempting to explain WHAT rape actually is and WHY it's harmful/unlawful IRL while being a popular trope in FICTION

    Bookmarker's Notes

Really meaty discussion about tackling noncon/dubcon tropes and how digging into/building out a fictional world's probable rape culture to enhance said tropes (and how fandom tend to be very skiddish about it). Leans Yaujta fandom-centric but can apply to other fandom-based stories/world-building in general.

    Summary

The NE-Alpha parasite increased the subject’s critical thinking capacities and improved its ability to follow complex commands. Unfortunately, aside from the uses directly pertaining to the creation of B.O.W.s, little is known about the parasite's biological mannerisms. The incredibly low survival rate of parasitosis could not provide enough data to harbour an ethological analysis.

Jill, of course, does not care for the science behind it. All she cares about is how horribly, awfully, and tremendously wrong the mission had gone.

The Nemesis unit is - and this is the closest approximate description that she could provide - in heat.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Jill is just having a good time with shoving a nonstastard item up Nem's slit. Also, limiter suit tease - just tasty N/J things

Abigail didn’t mean for any of it to happen. She just couldn’t resist a peek, once she saw that the old mine elevator was working again.

In which Abby is intrepid and ends much deeper in the mines than she intended.

A synth's life is a constant series of processing and programming. It's a rare thing, but all that brain power sometimes leaves Thia feeling as if she'd rather go offline than to think for even a second longer.

Enter Dek, and his thrice damned penchant for leaving her mind blank and her insides oozing.

Literally, as what begins as the occasional blowjob between death-defying antics becomes exactly what Thia needs to let go and stop being subject to her own minds nature.

    Summary

This is the first of a series of essays I wish to write on the Gender Politics of Sherlock fandom. There are many things I wanted to say at the official panel but was unable to, since it was derailed by a group of individuals who showed up with the intention of intimidating and harassing the panel moderator. In future essays, I’d like to share my thoughts on femslash, Mary Sues and the fridging of female characters, on heteronormativity in slash, and on queer representation beyond slash (bisexual, pansexual, asexual and trans people in fanworks and fan spaces). I’d like to touch on race and being a queer Woman of Color in a fandom mostly interested in White male characters.

Before I get to those subjects, however, I feel a need to return to the original intended topic: the essay I began writing on my phone on the plane.

And that essay is on the subject of noncon fanworks.
